Some people believe that dreams are a past life, some people believe they are you in another dimension. Some people believe that dreams are just that, dreams. So I'm curious, what do you think dreams are? What do you think the purpose of dreams is?

Answer away and have fun!

I don't think they are from a past life but I don't exactly have a theory. For me my dreams can be pretty realistic. Sometimes a certain thing in my day can suddenly remind me of a dream that I had at some point and never remember it until that exact thing happens and it'll be very similar to my dream. Maybe it's just the way my Brain works it's weird.

I think some dreams are there to hint towards future events, for me it is anyway.

Personally If my dreams are including flying ice cream and unicorns then dam those dreams are some proper dimensional stuff. Personally I think that dreams are just a natural thing created by the mind yet you can't really dream of something you ain't seen before so maybe It's just something that you've already encountered or seen before.

Hmm I might be hallucinating but so often I dream of things that literally happen like that a few days or weeks afterwards. Maybe that has something to do with my forum name too :p When the situation happens then, it feels awfully familiar when I dreamt of it before. And maybe that's just me testing out different outcomes of different situations when dreaming and one of them happens then... I dunno really, it's strange.

Not trying to do that on purpose though, or trying to do lucid dreaming or what you call that? That stuff just scares me.

I didn't get the chance to dream too much, due to stress.

But I do get these weird short dreams, where I got to passed all my entire tasks/projects for the job, and the moment I woke up, I actually wasn't finished yet.

Anyone else have those pornstar dreams :eek:tt:
Then you wake up and you're really sad that the dream ended then
reality hits you that you're alone in this cruel world. :*:

On a more serious note... I believe that dreams are simply just created by the brain. Nothing more nothing less. Things that seem to be on my mind before I go to bed usually appear in my dreams like an exam or a movie I just watched. I find it pretty interesting how our brain's can create these realities within our mind and how REAL they can be, it kinda reminds me of inception lol.

Had a dream about sand pouring out of my left ear. Collected enough sand to sell it for 500 euros.

No idea what this means. Maybe it's my fear for small animals like insects to fly into my ear and lay eggs or something that made me dream about my ear.

i think they just show what you are mostly worried about currently, like your subconsciousness processes information and gives it back to you in a dream

My dreams tend to delve into my subconscious wants (money, materialistic things) others are scenes plucked from areas I often go to or things that are worrying me during that time. Dreams mean nothing to me, I see no association between dreams and reality.

I had a dream the other day that my gf was making out with another dude and then left me on the spot. If dreams mean anything then I'm gonna be fuckin pissed.

it might just mean that you are worried about the relationship or something

In my limited experience, dreams are simply one's mind, dealing with and processing the recent events of the day.

It's nothing sacred or sublime. Just Google "sleep subconscious". When we sleep, our brain takes over. Our Brain has to process the events and effects of the day.

It's a very basic system of processing that which has happened recently.

I believe most dreams we have, genuinely have real meaning. As when you sleep your subconscience is exposed so its given free roam of thought, however depending on your current state of mind it's very likely your subconscience will play on your insecurities.

My partner has a job interview on Monday, and she's pretty worried about it. Last night she dreamt about her job interview. She arrived in the building where it's held, and was asked to wait on the top floor, but it ended up with her scalling a never ending stair case. Personally I think that's her subconscience playing with her insecurities telling her she's chasing something unobtainable.

But of course you can have dreams which also make no sense at all, so it's swings and roundabouts really.
