Saw this in the newspaper, so thought I'd share it here.
Nicola Edgington, a psychiatric patient, decapitated a 58 year old grandmother just hours after pleading to be locked up.
Shortly beforehand she had tried to stab a 22 year old woman. Nicola was jailed yesterday for a minimum of 37 years.
She had made five emergency calls on the day of the murder asking to be sectioned under the Mental Health Act because she believed herself a danger.

Just.. shocking, as said in the article "The most worrying aspect of this is that it could have been prevented".
