Regarding weed in the UK... if you're caught with enough on you to be classed as enough to be "intent to supply", you can get in poop. Any less than that and most likely you'd just have it confiscated and be fined. Caught smoking a joint? At worst you'd have it taken off you. If you were caught several times, again, fine and possible sentence for community service at the most. It's a Class B drug over here so the penalties aren't that bad and depending on when that picture was taken, could have been a Class C at the time which would be even less of a penalty.

Like what was said before, there's not even proof what you were smoking was a joint if the police decided to analyse that picture (although personally speaking I can tell it was from the way it was burning and I smoke both joints as well as normal rollups lol, and yes, I can agree rolling tobacco is HELLA cheaper than buying cigarettes). You won't get in poop with the law here for smoking a joint in a picture and there is no way that smoking a spliff means there's intent to supply, therefore trying to claim you're a dealer does indeed fall under slander/libel. It's hilarious they're trying to use it against you though lol.

Pic is from 2006 and is personal use the UK law then was relaxed. You'd have it confiscated.

Yeah that falls under when it was a Class C over Class B, not like they really bother being much stricter these days since it was reclassified. It's more of a personal attack over a legal thing. Just shows how low and petty they are as well as ignorant of the legal system over here.

Think it's time you cashed in on the publicity. Isn't there any ran servers that was a huge influx of new players from the official server that were directed here?

Might as well get something out of it. :D

Rules of Ragezone

  • Know what your talking about before you speak.
  • If you dont know shut up
  • Unless your sexy you should not speak
  • Nothing at Ragezone is illegal

Ragezone breaks no law. It is not illegal to direct to copyright material. No content is hosted at ragezone nor do ragezone help with private servers personally. This site is a development site for learning it is not a resource site nor does it in courage. It is like having a sit that teaches you how to hack. Just because we teach does not mean we tell you to go and hack any site you want. So unless you can show me proof ragezone voilate any law then we really dont give a damn. Been around , still around, always gana be around.

+1 Think this is the first time Dan has been molested (LOL) by some company?

Wow..I didn't know that...it seems like the UK is more strict then the US..if your caught with just a joint..unless it's a real idiot cop...most just throw it away...give you a ticket at the most.

Or even RageZone. Could we log how many more users have registered because of this and compare it to everything else? Think that would be a big duck you to them.

More users doesn't really benefit us, the new users aren't going to be the devs we need but the leachers or players we don't need. Unless they come to the outerworld and socialise, then as long as they aren't complete fucktards the more the merrier!

But 'selling' the extra redirects to a ran server makes sense. They'd get far more out of it then we are. Plus Mim might be less eager to publicise us if we are actively giving their players an alternative to their server. That would be a complete PR failure, it would be like Apple telling everyone to go and look at Samsungs products, while telling them it's free. If they are going to publicise us, we might as well abuse that.

While I don't see it happening that Dan would get in real poop because of this site, it's definitely realistic that RZ might stop to exist in the same way it does now. Laws are changing, the whole Pirate Bay thing is only a test, so far that test has been very successful, I mean they are forcing down a site that hosts nothing illegal, but because the clear intent is to share copyrighted material, they can still force it down.

I've been around for 10 years and in those 10 years RZ has always been about sharing links to activities that are illegal itself, if you apply those same cases against TPB, against RZ, then RZ would have to change completely or close down.

The question is, will that day ever come? With more and more MMORPG's going free to play, illegal servers are not that much of a dent in their finances anymore, so most companies will not really care, hell they might even watch them to learn from them.

Thankfully the gaming industry is less aggressive to change than both the music or film industries.

Publishers have largely welcomed steam and other download systems. The film industry has essentially hated every new technology, from VCRs to the internet. The music industry just rages on everyone.

Indeed. Even when it was good for sales, they would just refuse to make deals for lower prices, for example with Guitar Hero and Rock Band, bands under certain labels never appeared on them because they wanted full price for their songs, which of course was impossible or the stand alone game would have been like 150 euro if not more, the argument that the songs in those games saw their sales skyrocket on iTunes, fell on deaf ears.

The music industry is by far the most fucked up part of the entertainment industry.

Personally I'm really glad about the changes in the gaming industry, of course not all free to play games are well done, quite a few use messed up ways that makes the game only fun for those who pay, but in general it's pretty well balanced giving paying players stuff to change how they look and fun items that won't make them stronger, but are cool to use. The gaming industry is definitely learning that there are other ways to make money while completely stopping illegal downloading etc.

+100...you took some of the words I was going to respond right out of my mouth....Free To Play just means unbalanced in favor of the people that can afford to pay alot...even someone who spends say $15 a month in the cash shop cannot compare to someone with nearly unlimited funds to spend there. Even Free To Play servers will always have a private following just to play the game someone enjoys on a more balanced playing field.

Yet you don't respond to my reply to your post. I wonder why...

I did read it...really had no educated response to it. I would hate to lose RZ..but it has had alot of changes over the years. I cannot control the outcome of it so I will just roll with the punches, so to speak.

The second post of yours, I read, I felt took precedence in my mind due to the fact that it's what I was going to say.

Well if they could sue him I'm pretty sure they would have tried to do so by now instead of pissing around with a few YT videos and spreading rumors.

It's hosted in Russia.

Also RZ isn't a company, therefore it cannot be sued. A company is its own legal entity, protecting its employees. The only thing they could do is sue Dan, who frankly doesn't do any of the dev work any more therefore they have a pretty flimsy court case. Even if they won, again it's hosted in Russia so I'm not sure they could actually get it shut down. Dan could just let someone take over and step down.

Frankly the only way to combat PS is like what Blizzard has done. Go after the really big servers, and sue the duck out of their owners.

Plus I doubt anyone in our community would support someone who was making millions for their dev work. It's fair enough if server owners are making enough to keep the server running, but PS should not be created to profit from. I personally believe that should be in the ToS of using this site, because frankly these people are stealing from our devs.

You clearly haven't seen the dev sections recently, ppl host servers only for making money and when they have an issue they just post it and expect someone to fix it for them, afterwards they give nothing in return, not even rep ;\

So people do help, because imho that's why we came here to begin with.
