Question Game objects getting embedded in the game terrain.

Your Ad Here
I've been noticing that while playing the game using mangos, that game objects and characters have a tendency to literally display as being partially embedded within the terrain graphic they are walking on. So for example you'd see only the creature's head sticking out of the ground instead of the whole creature, or half a portal as the other half is within the ground. So far different mangos revisions haven't made any difference. Has anyone run into this other than me?

The database I'm using is the project silvermoon database, revision 5. The mangos core I'm currently on is 3604. This doesn't seem to happen to me when I play on the official servers so I'm a bit stumped. I am using the included maps from one of D.J. Ravines packages (3384 core I think) if that makes any difference.

Has anybody else run into this before, and if so, know of a way to fix it?

Thanks in advance to any and all suggestions.

Re: Game objects getting embedded in the game terrain.

well the only way i can see to fix this is to delete the object in the SQL DB & re-plant it yourself, as for the spawns ".del" & ".addspw ###" to get them on your ground level =D

Re: Game objects getting embedded in the game terrain.

Thanks for the reply Ragefire. I'll give those suggestions a shot. I'll try taking a closer look at the db as well and see if maybe there is some adjustment I can make in there as I'm trying to see if I can just make an adjustment that will fix it all across the board instead of having to respawn each bad object I run across in game (though maybe that's what you meant when you suggested to "replant" the object in the database).

Thanks again.
