About Us

To celebrate some more "old school" browser based games I decided to open this site. I fondly remember playing these types of games back when the Internet was young. So far I have added 4 of these types of games. The games themselves are "as they were in their final release" however I will be working to spruce up their look and feel and also add to them overtime.

BlackNova Traders - Reloaded (New work has begun)

BlackNova Traders is a strategy game, loosely based on the old BBS games of Tradewars, Galactic Warzone, and Ultimate Universe, but multiplayer and Web-based. It involves space trading, conflict, and diplomacy. The old team is back and working on an update of this classic! Here is our test server and we will keep it updated to their test releases as fast as we can.

There will be two versions of this running.

The first will be the new "Reloaded" version however it will have a beginning and an end.This one will be referred to as "Reloaded Normal".

As opposed to the other which will also be the "Reloaded" version yet it will be a completely "developmental" game. Which means it could reset at any time when updated to new coding that requires a new database. This version will be to help the developers flesh out bugs and other issues. I find the prospect of this version quite exciting.

The "Dev" version will also have an increased speed at which certain things in the game happen such as How many turns you get, When planets are updated, etc. This will ensure that even tho the game is updated and reset often some of the experiences later in the game are not missed and can be tested as well. This one we will refer to as "Reloaded Dev".

Dragon Knight

The Dragon Knight game engine is an online game system created by Jamin Seven. It is an RPG-style game in which you the character explore the map, fight monsters, gain experience and buy items, among other things.

Promisance

Promisance is a web-based turn-based strategy game. This is the original version based on medieval periods. As we stated though we will attempt to expand on this.

This website is the home for the Empire of Shadows (aka MCEmpire) Minecraft server. We hope this site and our forum will be a valuable resource for our players. We are bringing this into our new Empire Hostings Network in an effort to link all our resources together and make them easier to access.

Thanks for pointing that out. I made a few tweaks to my server software(to make Travian run better) that apparently hasn't agreed with those two. I will try to get them fixed however they are the two least popular so far.

really enjoy DK. It is a simple text-based but I like the simpleness of it. Great for a quickly 10-15mins play whenever you're bored around lunch at the office.

Promisance seems great too except it's hard to grow past a certain land due to declining exploration rate and low player base. Also there seems to be a lack of explanation on how to advance through different era and some specificity on the guide (how much peasant per huts or food per farm or money per market etc...) Attempting to find these specificity cost more than a few turns if you decide to build 1 at a time to see the effects, which isn't too friendly to new players.

Other than that, it's a decent text base game :)

Edit: Keeps in Promisance does nothing. Didn't reduce amount of upkeep even at 25% built. Huts give too small of a population bonus that it's better to just pump market for maximal growth of PCI
