Hey guys I'm looking to pick up a laptop pretty soon, my budget is £300-£500.

It's going to be something portable the wife and I can share, she can do her uni work on it, I can work on my blog and videos etc. I only want it to be able to play league of legends as well as possible for the budget (I don't care if it's not on high settings, just a stable fps), I don't think there are any other requirements like "must have an ssd".

This is a refurbished "as new" laptop, it's got a dedicated graphics card and 8gb of ram, but only a 1.5ghz cpu

This one is also refurbished, it has a 2.4ghz cpu, but an onboard intel hd 4000 for graphics and 6gb ram.

This actually seems like the best so far, what do you guys think?

The HD4000 will run LoL, but not that great. I play some games on my tablet which has the 4000, but I use a second account because it's definitely not optimal. Considering the form factor of a laptop shouldn't give heating problems, I would definitely go for a dedicated mobile GPU.

The last one should be fantastic, that can easily run games such as BF4, Watch Dogs and LoL at highest. The price is really good as well, lowest price with that GPU I can find, is 800 euro, so it's a really good deal and should get you plenty of value.

Perhaps MentaL can chip in as well, I know he recently bought a really good laptop for a low price. It was from some unknown brand as well.

3rd link, PC specialist lets you customise the laptop. I'd suggest going for a 1080p screen because low res is my pet peeve, tablets are hitting 2k HD, laptops seem to be regressing lol. Processor is something you should prob think about upgrading as you cant do it easy aftersales. Its a shame you can't remove the HDD, I'm sure you could get one cheaper elsewhere/scavenged. Also note you don't get win7 with it, but I think ria might be able to get it cheap/free from uni? Otherwise it sounds like you can put 2 HDD in it as well as msata ones so upgrading the side is easy, same as ram tbh. Though you could wait for the next gen gfx cards to be released and see if you can pick something up cheap with everyone upgrading?
