Has nothing to do with what you are using it for. DDR3 is the best but it has minimal performance boost and costs alot more. DDR2 is the way to go.

If you're not on a budget, get DDR3, It runs at a higher speed, but the timings are higher, which only gives it a slight increase in performance over DDR2.

If you want to pay more than double for less than 10% performance increase... then yes. But keep in mind if the motherboard and CPU are poop then you are wasting your money.

im using Dual Core and my memory is up to 160gig and im using DDR3 RAM 512mb...you mean if i use pentium 4 and i use DDR3 RAM it mean DDR3 is not Compatible in Pentium 4?

Memory is RAM, you have 160gb of Hard drive space and 512mb of memory.

That is a waste of money. For the same price you could have got 2gb of DDR2 and it would be faster. And i didn't say it won't be compatible, i said it would be useless cos your CPU would bottleneck it.

You only have 512MB of RAM? I doubt your motherboard supports DDR3 RAM.

If you have Pentium 4 dual, go for DDR2 with 2GB at least or more, you will pay less than u paid for 512 DDR3 and have batter results
