There are no 32/64bits versions of RAM. It's just Windows that comes in either 32/64bits. If you go with more then 4GB of RAM you have to go with a 64bits Windows version to be able to address all that memory. Even with 4GB RAM and a 32bits Windows version you'll probably only see 3.25GB of RAM. Nowadays I always recommend to go with the 64bits version of Windows. Early adopters of the 64bits version were having some troubles with programs not being supported yet, but nowadays everything is supported (unless you still use some DOS programs once in a while). So always go with the 64bits version of Windows.

Anything 32bits will only do 4GB max. Windows 7 has several different versions ofcourse besides 32/64bits, like starter, home premium, ultimate.
Here's a short list of what the 64bits versions of those versions can support:

Starter: 8GB
Home Basic: 8GB
Home Premium: 16GB
Professional: 192GB
Enterprise: 192GB
Ultimate: 192GB

Looks like standard 184 pin DDR. Pick up a 3200 set because them are the fastest DDR sticks you can get @ 400mhz. Also pay attention to your cpu stepping. If you have a older model cpu you might not be able to run a full 4gb without it kicking your memory clocks down to 333mhz. Which isn't a big deal vs having 4gb. Also your going to pay out the butt for these, they cost more then DDR2/DDR3 because of they aren't produced much anymore. Make sure you buy low density modules, else your getting ripped off.
