Photoshop CS..? 0.o If you ask me - there aint any better currently.
Wanna do 3d Models and etc - go for Studio Max or Maya

Yes. Photoshop can be used to make amazing stuff. Just give the tutorials a read through and you will be able to do in much better.

GIMP has all the features of Photshop, only difference is you don't have to bootleg it.

photoshop is mint for doing artwork in, problem is it either costs a bomb or u can get a bootleg of it :S
