Before reading. I have not created this tutorial. Credits to whoever created it, I am just sharing it.
In this Photoshop tutorial you will be learning how to create this magical design, It’s simple and anyone with beginners level with Photoshop can complete design.
Resources used
Step 1.
Open the globe hand image into Photoshop, we need to remove it from it background, to do this you can grab the pentool pentool and select the path of the hand and the globe. Once the path is completed Right-click to make a selection then go to select/ Inverse or Shift* Ctrl*I ,now hit delete on the keyboard.
Step 2. Brighten the Image.
Using the burn tool
photoshop-burn-tooland brush it along the bright parts of the hand making the “HAND” stand out more. Can also dodge the darken area, giving the image some highlights.
Step 3. Cleaning up the hands.
Using the pen-tool and select all the extra pieces from the background and remove it, once you have your selection click delete. Do this to all areas of the hands that needs cleaning up. If you are really good with the erase tool you can use it as well.
Step 4 Upload the “Fish” image.
Once up-loaded scale your image to fix over the “Hand” layer. Please make sure the “Hand” layer is below the “Fish” image. To scale go to Edit-Transform-Scale- and Hold the Shift key when doing so to scale the image down to the desire size. Note you can also do Edit-Content Aware Scale.
Okay now your image should look like the image on the right, next set the layer to “Hard light” your image should become transparent. Don’t worry about the part of the “Hand Globe” that isn’t covered once your start wrapping it will cover it.
Step 5-Warping.
Select the warping tool, and wrap the “fish” so it covers the globe completely, the edges of the fish bowl should fit around the edges of the globe. (Hope you were able to follow this step.) Check out the
Step 6 Adding the bubble
Upload the bubble image and make sure its below the “Fish” layer Name the layer “bubbles”position the bubble image in the Center as shown. You might need to got Edit- Transfer- scale, to resize it if needed Once in the position you want it to be set layer to blending mode *Soft light.Select the brush tool and set Hardness “0″ and brush Size to 100%and Finally lower the opacity to about “17%”.
After you set the blending mode to “Soft Light” you will have the results to the bottom , Apply a layer mask to the “bubble” layer and make sure your foreground is set “black” grab the brush tool and erase all the unwanted parts. Continue to erase until you have blend the image into the globe well.
For example:
1. The bubbles should only be on the water
2. Erase all bubbles around the fish body
3. Erase the bubbles around the top of the globe too.
This is the completed result of the blending of the bubbles.
Step 7 Background
Upload your “Leaf” texture image. Make this your background image . Name it ” Background leaf 1″We will be adding a Gaussian Blur to the background leaf. To do this go to Filter-Blur-Gaussian Blur and set the Radius to 14.8 pixel
Step 8. Adding the Rain drops
Upload you rain drop image and make sure it is above the ” background leaf 1″ layer and name it “background drop 1″
Now set the blending mode to “overlay” and you should have the result shown below.
Step 9 Creating the plants
Using the pen-tool draw a leaf image any kind of leaf shape you life- (( left the design become your own)) after you leaf is completed , with the pen tool still selected right click and to make selection of image, Then go to Edit-Copy and Edit-paste, and paste the “leaf” Cut out.
hold ctrl and click create a new layer icon
Step 10- Warping the leaf image.
With your leaf image pasted, begin warping it so it can form a smaller and more skinnier leaf.
As you can see here I continued to warp the image. I dodge and burn in to create some depth to the leaf. To smooth out the image I smudge it then apply a Gaussian blur around 4.5 the final leaf in the 3nd image below.
Step 11. Completing the background
Below you will see how I took the single leaf image, re-shape it, re-size it to form more leaves for our background.
Combine all the leaf images into one flat image- Go to layer-New-Group from layers and make sure you have all the leaf layers selected you want to group together before grouping your layers. Use the burn tool to darken the leaf more. Rotate, flip and position to have your desired result.
This should be your final result.
Enjoy =)
