It depends on your server files... some server applications require a specific OS in order to run properly. There is no general OS for all mu server files and gameservers.

Win 2k3 Sp1 + Sql 2005
The best ^^
Agreed, I use that too. MSSQL 2005 Enterprise Edition, if your bothered buying it or (even better), downloading it from some warez sites or even torrents.

server 2003 for better performance less bug and easy to use. :)

Good Luck! :)
what have bugs to do with os version?

My opinion is that win2k8 server(standard version is enough for mu) with mssql 2k8 will give you maximum of performances but be sure to have at least 4 GB Ram.

Im not talking bug inside game what i mean is less worry on speed because 2003 have a low processing than 2008... probe it to your self. :)

Have a nice day and Happy Valentine's Day :)

On my old mu server i used Windows Server 2003 Enterprise SP1 - I believe it's the best for mu servers, never had a crash related to the OS.

*used scfmt's files tho*

Windows Server 2003/Windows XP.

I'm using Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 Enterprise Edition.

I've hosted all versions of MuServer on it already and didn't have any problems.

I saw alot of people a saying they have trouble using Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 Enterprise edition ,cause many programs used to crash for them.

Personally I didn't have any problems yet and if I did have problems they were not O.S side problems.

So I can recommend you Windows Server 2003.
