you can do that these guides were done long long time ago, but still recommended for ppl who wanna just do fast install and test.

do you know why its always stuck when i try to install sql server 2008?
im using win 10 and its just stuck every time in the installation and i cant continue with that
tried even fresh new installation of windows and nothing

Check if your available space isn't divisible by 4MB. I had a funny bug where I couldn't install SQL Server 2008 due to the fact that my available space was divisible by 4MB.

Sounds silly, but it could be your issue.

which sql 2008 did u download?
works for me here normally.. maybe try windows 2012 for u very similar to 2008

Hello, i have the same problem, I dont understand all this answer. I changed Host in Exillum.ini for (local), my pc name, PCNAME\SQLEXPRESS, nothing works. Using SQL 2008 R2

yeah Zoregork looks like these exillum files have issue with connecting to GS... something wrong with the connection settings, what u can do is use sql 2000 for testing but these files arenot thaat good for official server anyways

KarLi Running a server with no issues, everything works great running on the LAN.

What files do I need to edit so I can take it from the LAN and open it up to the internet and do i need to open any other ports apart from all the ports currently mentioned?


TomatoKun you need to make sure all the ports are open that have been mentioned and also make sure you've adding the LAN IP to all the correct places on the server as well as the client. Failing to do so will result in the being disconnected message.

use that IP of the current server running to your server files ONLY IN THIS 2 FILES
a. MAPSERVERINFO.DAT IN DATA FOLDER
b. connectserver folder/ serverlist.dat

3. change in client IP just like u did with LAN to global ip (cmyip.com)

I failed in main.exe when I checked the game server, I was told that I needed to download a new version and get rid of it like I did.thanks

Hey @KarLi, I've got S1 files working, but I can't pick up items in-game, even ZEN — I just get a message saying "Can't get this item".
Can you advise please?

Edit:
It's not a problem anymore. Unfortunately, I don't know why it started working well now.
However, there was a big lag when picking up items that was caused by a poor VPS I was using, works great after an upgrade.

Edit 2:
@KarLi do you recommend those S1 files to be used for a real server? Where do they come from? Please advise.
The changelog doesn't mention any known issues, so I'm wondering if that means they're stable.

bprzemek sorry for late response, the s1 files are not thaaat GOOD thats why bettry use from XG.S Team or other files repack... anyways lags and such are cuz of the vps if u upgraded u good

edit2 answer: YES but as u see there are some things that cannot be fixed without you working on fixing the gameserver, problem is gs version is not like other REPACKS so u cannot just replace.. best ways = 1 find other SCFMT Season 6 Episode 3 repack which has everything fixed..

Computer A running SQL server
Computer B running Mu Server

I have set up the ODBC connection, tested it work, and from the Computer B "SQL Studio" I am able to connect to SQL server of computer A, but the databaseserver & exdb always come up with error.

Well i havent tried that yet.. does sound somehow possible though..

can i ask what is the reason you want to do that? maybe there is a better solution for your reason.. ?

maybe there is setup on ODBC for remote sql connecitons?
