Introduction
Hello there, it's awesome to have you here, let me introduce myself. I'm the head administrator of the Old MU Online, a project that went on for 2 years, gathering people together from all over the world as we played together MU. Along the years, we learned a lot with our mistakes and with our achievements. We are reasonable innovators and game developers prepared to do what is it that has to be done to make MU a better game. Our minds are way ahead of Webzen's and our vision's different.
Invitation
This is an invitation for you "travel back in time" and join us there, we have prepared ourselves for you, for the world. We will not make any nonsense promise because the truth is that our project will exist for as long as we got the resources for it and, in the same effect, we are not here to promise what should be obvious because the truth is that our project will always be setup in gmo rates and perspectives. What we can promise is to have financial commitment and administration judgement allowing ourselves to work for the game's best interest.
Achievements
The Global Old MU Online is the most recent work we've been doing. Here's a some of our achievements:
- This comes first because it's what most people reckon with it. The Speed Hack fix. Our server is now fully capable of being aware of a character playing with altered attack speed. I'm not sure why Webzen trusted in the client with such information but now the server trusts no more. Clients with altered attack speed will be automatically closed automatically and its details logged for further decision making.
- This next one is our biggest achievement. Leagues represents the game worlds that characters exist in. A single character can only belong to one league at a time, and can't interact with characters outside of that league, except whispering. The leagues Standard and Hardcore exist permanently but there's also temporary leagues which have a set duration, which can vary from 12 minutes to four months. They are usually events. One of the things that's most fun about playing a competitive MMORPG is taking part in a levelling race on a fresh server or in a mutated game world event. In Global Old MU Online, we wanted to capture this feeling without constantly resetting our main economy. Leagues can substantially modify the game rules.
- The last one for this list but not least. The Marketplace. We've built a place where players can register their items to sell to other players for in-game Jewels. All process is done automatically.
Generic Information
Standard league
Obtained Exp: x1
Chance of item drop: 5%
Chance of double item drop: 10% after a item drop draw
Standard is the default league and has no special rule. This represents the classic game world. We expect and encourage most players to play in the default league, but other leagues exist for specific play styles or events.
Hardcore league
Obtained Exp: x2
Chance of item drop: 10%
Chance of double item drop: 20% after a item drop draw
Hardcore is a special and permanent league with its own game rules (modifiers). The most important rule/modifier is that characters who die are removed from the Hardcore economy and becomes a Standard character. Hardcore is equivalent to permadeath in other RPGs, though characters and items are not automatically deleted for they are simply moved to the Standard league.
