Hello there,
I'm trying to create a new epic server, though I have to admit, that I lack knowledge about securing a server, protecting it against crashes etc, due to my absence in the kalscene. I'm not up to date at all!
Though I'm looking for a team! People who are willing to help me create a new server based on the following specs (read further) pm me!
Also if you already have a team and looking for more developers, I would like to join your team in case you got a professional team up and running and willing to implement some of my idea's.
# The idea is to build a new Realm, I always liked the old kalonline maps, so I'm not planning to change alot about them, though I want a new system. If you have read my topic about king of the realm, I'm gonna try to implement something like that, small story short: someone can become king and that person has special abilities.
# I want to build a more story alike server instead of just farming and killing, Create content on the go, for example start with the main city in perfect state, though next update complete destroy it and in between the ravage put a boss and monsters, so the king and his army has to fight these monsters. It should all fit in a storyline.
# I also want to get away from the current item system, I never liked it anyway. With the item system I mean, that there is only g50,g53,g56 etc. Im planning to make it more like tiers, and a lvl req for each tier, so T1 coud be lv 1 req, T2: lvl 20 req, T3:lvl30req etc.
With in every tier different classes of rarity armors and weapons. This way makes it possible for players to fight with a simple tier 4 weapon which could be a g50 revenge 2h, or can be a rare g56 2 handed, there will also be epic rarity and legendary etc, with different recolorings.
This way people cant whine because they can easily find lower tier grade items and continue leveling, though by doing special instances etc they can find special items.
# Another idea, is to make from almost each monster a fitting boss monster, which has a higher droprate chance and spawns every once in a while (like the SRO system)
# About xp rate, I want it low, you might argue that low rates dont attract players, though low rate perfectly fits this kind of server. Though people want to change job rather fast, so if it's possible I would make the jobchanges lower level, so you dont get 3th jobchange after playing for a month
I've got plenty of idea's more, and ofcourse I'm open for all of your input too, I'm not planning to create an hyrarchical team, I prefer a decentralized team ^^. Though for this, we need some good strict rules and coorperation, hope we might figure this out together!
You dont have to agree on all the idea's I mentioned, though it would be a good headstart if we got the same direction we would wanna go to.
