| [GENERAL] This is why you dont make your Retro Famous (A MUST READ)
Well, me and PoiZones famous hotel Epichotel.co.uk got owned by sulake, heres the details. We recieved about 500 people online daily.

Dear Webmaster,
Please find attached a letter addressed to you. Please forward this to the
Client also.
It has come to your attention that the website: www.epichotel.co.uk has
remained online despite a recent attempt to reach mutual agreement on website
termination, on a previous webhost.
This is the client's second and final formal warning. After much discussion
with our legal team, and the solicitors Clarke and Willmott with whom you
spoke recently, acting on our behalf in the United Kingdom; we have decided
that should the clients not terminate the copyright and illegal content from
their website within 48 hours we will commence with court proceedings and legal
action against www.epichotel.co.uk
Any associated webhosts who continue to host the website upon receipt of
this email will also be liable for legal action, in 'co-hersing' and
'endorsing' copyright material.
The owners of the website will be liable to be sued for monetary loss and
copyright infringement to the claimant Sulake in association with
Habbohotel.co.uk.
The disclaimer on the site- www.epichotel.co.uk would be deemed as invalid
as this does not negate legal action as verified by Solicitor Advocate Mr
Paul Willcott.
On a further note should the site seek to change hosts or domain, this
would see us posting summons of court to the parties involved, as they have been
formally warned.
Please send all future correspondence to our solicitors personal email of
which authority has been given - willcottllp@rocketmail.com of Clarke and
Willmott.

| Excuse me? I never typed that, I just said we were AS FAMOUS. Which means we had 100+. They didn't always get 200+ daily, but I've gotten 200+ a variety of times, so I mean why go overboard?

Offshore means the webiste is hosted outside UK and USA, they are usually more relaxed on laws.

| I didn't think it mattered, on or offshore hosting, I thought they could still get the person who upoaded the files sued..

well if u had tht email then ur hotel woulda been closed by now
the email he got i think he had to close his hotel or they would be in court
so im sure ur email wasnt tht threatning or u wouldnt have ur hotel up right now lol.

| I belived that Echo had a user limit of around 200, and that only increased just before it closed down (It realy should re-open) and before that it's limit was 100
Towards the end it was reaching 200+ around every day, Yes I no this because i spent/wasted alot of time playing on it.

Thats why you dont go advertising everywhere.And make it a Rule in the Hotel that you are aloud to advertise your friends but no one else.

I think it is already established that:
1) Sulake will ask to to take the site down
2) ONLY if you don't will they sue you (it's alot of legal hassle)
3) As seen from the letter, disclaimers are pointless
I'm sorry for your loss, and I'm pretty sure my hotel will be shut down pretty soon. :(
Also, what server where you using to handle all that users? Can you PM me a copy?

I was using the V31 server. Its pretty stable if you think about it.
