About Zap Hotel
I could go on here about how Zap was one of the biggest and best retros during it's prime, and I could go on to state we had the highest English hotel peak of 2,887. However, this is 2016 and no one cares about that poop.
Zap Hotel is a hotel ran across multiple servers in a top tier data centre provided by Microsoft Azure in the South Central area of the United States. We run Microsoft Windows and Ubuntu Linux as our operating systems and they are set up in a professional manner, which you will be able to tell due to the sheer speed of them.
I'm sure you aren't here to read a huge lengthy shenanigans post with me telling you that we basically have all the same features as every other retro and offer you basically the same amount of furniture and clothes, and I'm not here to tell you that.
What I AM HERE to tell you about is the ideals that we have here at Zap:
You start with 2,500 credits and every non rare piece of furniture costs just one credit. There is no point charging more than that.
All rares are released as a numbered limited edition in order to keep track of exactly how many rares there are in the economy and in order to make sure there is no off-record staff intervention in it either.
In order to trade, purchase rares or to decorate other users rooms, you must have a verified email address which we believe the safest route to having a strict, cared for economy in which you the user are solely in charge of trading, buying and selling within the hotel with the least possible chance of people cloning accounts for the benefit of getting rich.
If you are an idiot, you are not welcome. You will be banned at the first sign of toxic activity. In saying that, 99% of us do have a good sense of humour, some of us even a dark sense of humour so most people can fit in completely fine and have a good time.
Most of the community is part of our Discord server where we (mostly) get to know each other, play other games together, and think of new ways to improve the hotel. You can get an invite from any user on the hotel who is a part of it.
We are a mostly non profit hotel. We don't sell rares, credits, or any form of currency to make you better than other players. We are yet to release VIP and the way it works will be outlined in a news article on our website.
We listen to every users point of view and are happy to include features that will benefit everybody.
The hotel is frequently updated with new commands, limited edition rares and we keep the site and the client in a very organised manner.
All of our owners and developers are adults and we have no interest in petty beef with other retros or people, so if that is what you want: we suggest you stay away. You will find no arguments here.
This is the most professionally operated hotel you will find, with active owners, developers and staff team as well as a (mostly, depending on your timezone) community.
We host many events and a decent amount of weekly competitions.
There is probably more but I've written for long enough. Screenshots and link information below:
