    Creating a quality retro!

    Tabo Hotel
Creating a habbo retro and success.

Hello again, Let me start off by saying yes I am VERY aware off the amount of tutorials in this section, but nothing good enough to answer you questions and be a quality tut, that is my goal.

So you want a retro eh?
Its not that easy, belive me I have ran many very unsuccesful retros. Sure they are all fun in games until you get to about 2 members. Do not offer eveyone admin, give them tasks such as "get us 5 more members and you will receive a new rank" or something to keep them waiting. Because from what I know if you give it to them right then they will get very bored and leave and try to make there own hotel witch is no fun and always ends in rivalreys.

    Step 1. The basics

If you have never dealt with a retro before let me say that you may get confused and frustrated! If you know your basic html this wont be to big of a problem for any of you 'noobs' to retros.

    Step 2. The hard stuff

Now we must find the tools to create a retro lets start off with a simple loader, what is a load you ask? A loader is the big black box on the web page that displays your hotel also known as client, enter hotel etc.. this is a small html code that you will put on your web page! I will put down a loader and I will update daily!

    Loader below.
    PHP Code:
        <head>
        <
    meta http-equiv='Content-Type' content='text/html; charset=utf-8' />
        <
title>YOUR HOTEL LOADER  Created by lm.thehabbos.org</title></head>
        <
    body bgcolor='#000000'>
        <
    html>
        <
    center>
        <
    object classid='clsid:166B1BCA-3F9C-11CF-8075-444553540000' codebase='http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/director/sw.cab#version=8,5,1,0' id='habbo' width='720' height='540'>
          <
    param name='src' value='http://82.13.205.255/v14/habbo.dcr'>
          <
    param name='swRemote' value='swSaveEnabled='true' swVolume='true' swRestart='false' swPausePlay='false' swFastForward='false' swTitle='Habbo Hotel' swContextMenu='true' '>
          <
    param name='swStretchStyle' value='none'>
          <
    param name='swText' value=''>
          <
    param name='bgColor' value='#000000'>
          <
    param name='sw6' value='external.texts.txt=http://82.13.205.255/v14/external_texts.txt'>
          <
    param name='sw2' value='connection.info.host=IPADDRESS;connection.info.port=1232'>
          <
    param name='sw4' value='connection.mus.host=game.habbohotel.nl;connection.mus.port=30001'>
          <
    param name='sw3' value='client.reload.url=http://'>
          <
    param name='sw1' value='site.url=http://www.habbohotel.nl;url.prefix=http://www.habbohotel.nl'>
          <
    param name='sw5' value='external.variables.txt=http://82.13.205.255/v14/external_vars.txt'>
          <
    embed src='http://82.13.205.255/v14/habbo.dcr' bgColor='#000000' width='720' height='540' swRemote='swSaveEnabled='true' swVolume='true' swRestart='false' swPausePlay='false' swFastForward='false' swTitle='Habbo Hotel' swContextMenu='true'' swStretchStyle='none' swText='' type='application/x-director' pluginspage='http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/' sw6='external.texts.txt=http://82.13.205.255/v14/external_texts.txt' sw2='connection.info.host=IPADDRESS;connection.info.port=1232' sw4='connection.mus.host=game.habbohotel.nl;connection.mus.port=30001' sw3='client.reload.url=http://' sw1='site.url=http://www.habbohotel.co.uk;url.prefix=http://www.habbohotel.co.uk' sw5='external.variables.txt=http://82.13.205.255/v14/external_vars.txt'>
        </
    embed>
        </
    object>
        </
    center>
        </
    html>
        </
    body
Now lets copy that all down into note pad! and save that as loader.htm to your desktop or somewhere where you can remember it! Now lets get one of the worlds more powerful VPN sources hamachi. What is VPN? Vpn lets the users connect to your network so you do not have to portforward. But don't get confused by the big name its pretty easy tool. Anyways here is the download link (I will show how to portforward later on but that is for more experience people) now once you are done installing open it up and click the big ass power button, and turn it on. Now its on what next? next we need to go back to your loader.html and open it up because we need to edit some things. Go back to your hamachi for a sec and there will be an ip address please don't tell me you don't know what that is.. but if you don't and ipaddress is a unique code for all computers. But the hamachi ip's start of with a 5.***.***.** always. Anyways take a look at your ip address and go into loader html and press CTRL + F and type IPADRESS and hit enter, now there are highlighted items just replace 'IPADDRESS' with your hamachi ip address that was supplied. Now we have a working loader! Lets download a server (yeah a server, i bet you feel like a big boy huh?) I perfer to use debbo v3.5 because it is very powerful not much lag etc (lol jk i don't use oldschool). here is the download link for debbo v3.5 Now once you have downloaded that open it up. You will see some habbo-ish look and just minimize that. Now we are done just open up loader.html in google chrome and play your hotel, but make sure hamachi and debbo are running!

    Step 3. Editing your settings
Open up debbo and click on editor and click on database editor.

    Step 4. Customs
Customs make your hotel lag, no doubt but if you really want them you will have to find a custom pack with buy_furni and catalogue and you just go into buy_furni and paste the buy_furni you got from the pack and go into catalogue and paste the catalogue now just open up cata.txt and add the furni name to it.

Step 5. Key to a succesful retro.
they key to making a great hotel is being a nice admin and hiring nice staff, sure you can be some snobby prick to show how awesome you are for making a v18 hotel but being nice will make the users grow onto you and your staff and want to stay, Look at it like this we have a 1000 user hotel with DICK head staff, and a 30 user hotel with VERY active mods and admins who are nice and do not ignore you.

Step 6. Putting it so your friends can join
Well I cant belive I am saying this but go to webs.com and register a website and paste the HTML into a HTML box. Then go into hamachi and click create a network and make it like habbizhotel and make the password 123 or something then tell your users the info.

    Step 7. No hamachi?
Hamachi is very annoying when you have to download it all the time. I suggest going to run>cmd and type ipconfig and it will show your default gateway under network settings, now go to that like mine is 192.168.0.1 and log in, you may need to ask your router owner for username and password, once you are in click advanced settings or just click gaming and click portforwarding now we enter our ip address we get from wimi.com and make the port 1232 there you go you are now not hamachi

    ************ERRORS***********
Please report all errors below, and i will list some common errors such as "I get a run time error when i open debbo.exe" that is because you are trying to run it without admin privs, so just right click debbo.exe and clikc run as adminastrator "I get dissconnected when I enter hotel" that is because you screwed up on something, go over the steps and make sure everything is okay again "I can play but my friends cant" they must be in the hamachi network or you must have portforwarded.

Ughh my eyes are ruined. Why italized? Its annoying. Almost as annoying as when I released my v26 dcrs, A GRADE! Anyway, why old school, you can't make a quality retro with something thats dead. Thats like having sex with a dead body...yeah its great in your head but lets got honest, it sucks in the real world. (anyone get that metaphor, when you start a retro, old school makes you seem and feel like a genius, then you realize you suck...)

V18 is dead. How many v18 retros do you know of that have 10+ active users. I cant. Sure there are a lot of them, cause there are a lot of noobs.

I think this is very organized and has everything necessary! However I would suggest non-italicizing it next time, it kind of hurts my eyes. lol
