going to get 2 actually, 1 for my brother and 1 for my GF. $200 for plan, $250 for prepaid and the dealers here have to provide a free unlocking service so it can be on any carrier. awesome.

From what i could figure out, you're asking what unlocking does?

Well it just lets you use it on other networks. If you buy it on a plan it is locked to a specific network carrier. However, i think the downside to unlocking it in Australia is that only Telstra provides the GPS service, so if you change networks, you wont be able to use it. Doesn't bother me, i'd rather put them on my network and get extra phone credit ($50 recharge gets us $350 of credit).

//Edit, yes, ALL dealers in Australia are forced to unlock the prepaid 3g iphone for FREE.

Well, the phone is really beautyful...
I had one in my hands a few hours ago, i was uploading a movie in mp4 and dunno why but iTunes crashed. Then i reset the iPhone 3G and then the fu piece of shit has blocked it self. So, i connect it again, open iTunes for activate and then it says...
"There's a problem with your iPhone.
Your iPhone can be damaged..." or something similar, but in spanish....
The same day i upgrade it to 2.1, and there's no tool for windows to activate it manually. Of course, its illegal haha..

So, if i've to choose a phone to buy.. i'll buy a Nokia N95.
