Depends on the keyboard to be honest. My standard Dell keyboard from 4 years ago is probably the fastest keyboard you can type on. The keys are so easy to push on it and compared to any laptop it's easier to push the keys.
It's a shame really as you can't get a keyboard like that. All of the newer desktop ones are the usual stiff keys that are hard to push and even the new Dell standard keyboards are harder to push.
True, i actually use a really old keyboard, about 9-10 years old (was included with a P3 667mhz), it looks crap especially since it was my grandpa's, who used glue to paste on some big black letters on it so he could see it better, some of that glue is still on it... that and the left ctrl doesn't work... but it types great, and frankly i can't be bothered to buy a new one.
My mouse is old aswell, it's a wired optical mouse from 7 years ago, just some random brand (it was released under many names), but it works really well, and it has 5 buttons + scroll so i'm fine with it.
