My 4G networks are the same as the providers requirements which is 1700/2100mhz but some lady told me that I need to have 1700/2100mhz also in the 3G area as well.

Is this true? My desired provider also offers 4G so I don't see why I need 3G compatibility..

Every phone that has 4G it also has 3G, after all 4G is just an "updated" or "overclocked" if you like version of "3G". Now depending on area and signal strength your phone will switch from 2G to 3G and finally to 4G if your operator and phone allows it. Furthermore it also depends on your operator, because after all it's them who puts up the antennas, and if you have no 4G it means there are no antennas near-by.
