Vista sp1 64bit

i got a wireless usb modem but for some reason it dosent install properly on my laptop (it does not say like device has been instaled and is ready to use), it identifies it as a storage device
i know its not the laptop or vista cause it worked on other laptops

Hmm, tried to update? As you may knwo Vista automatically find up to 80% of your drivers and installs them correctly.

I don't recommend that, unless you want a visit by the BSoD.

When you have it plugged in, go visit your device manager (Control Panel > Device Manager) go find it and if its under your 'storage' there. If its right click and hit 'Update'.

i tried that, it find the 3 other drivers that are supposed to be there but after it tries to install the driver it says failed instead of ready to use like with the storage device part

I suggest then you go to device manager and uninstall it.

then install the drivers before you put the device in.
