Hi guys.
I have an old pc wich I use somtimes just for testing things.
It's a very old one, and I have no flat screen for it.

The problem is that my friend gave me an old nVidia graphics card (128mb) just for playing Halo 1 on it ^^
But when I putted in the card (I checked it several times) I tried to start up the pc, the screen only shows it's connected, but it looks like it don't recieves the signal from the card.

I had this problem already and it was with another graphics card, but thats not the issue.

Anyone knows what can cause the prob?

Oh and ty for reading this long text =)

Is the cable from your screen to the Harddrive plugged into the correct slot? There are two slots on mine, one for the onboard graphics card, and one for my stand alone graphics card, and when I unplug my wires to move my PC around, I usualy get mixed up.

It's worth a check.

What wattage is your PSU?

If it's older I doubt it has the power to support a GPU....

Please define and elaborate on "the screen only shows it's connected" because if the card is not in/working properly, it will not show anything on the screen at all.

I'l check the Graphic Cards details (nVidia GeForce FX 5200 AGP 128mb).
Found this:
Video ChipGeForce FX 5200Video Chip Speed250MHzMemory Size
128MBMemory Type (videocards)DDRMemory Speed
200MHzDunno whats the motherboard specs are.
Its a AGP slot, thats all what I know about it.

Well, if my screen is connected to a VGA slot, it shows a picture.
But it's programmed in the screen, I guess.
It may be that the motherboard shows that, but I haven't a screen to test on.
(I have a screen, It's flat screen but I dun't wanna ruin it.)

Still don't works =(
HELP!

He was asking about your power supply, not your graphics card. If the PC is extremely old then the power supply will not be able to handle a graphics card, however i think it should be fine since it does not require external power directly from the PSU.

And what do you mean it "shows a picture"? If it is unplugged it will say no input or cable unplugged, if it is plugged properly but doesnt' work it will juts be a black screen.
