Hi,

Looking to upgrade cheapish, wanting to start streaming and recording clips for mates.
My PC crashes when i run my HD60 Pro on OBS, and really wanna upgrade.

Current specs:
- AMD Athlon(tm) X4 860K Quad Core Processor
- 16GB
- Some crappy gigabyte motherboard, not sure if its AMD A78, or something like that, its a budget motherboard that come with the tower, crappy really, bought ages ago when needed a PC upgrade.
- GT 610 or something but buying GTX 960 sometime soon, or when i upgrade my motherboard might buy GTX 970.

Anyway can anyone recommend anything for me, been looking but not to sure on what to actually get that can cope with 1080p @ 60 FPS.

Thanks.

The GTX 960 is what I've just ordered and will do a decent job certainly for 1080p, but you need to look into the higher end of the market for 1080p @ 60fps whilst you're also running OBS. 16GB RAM is a lot but for video editing it'll do the job. Now you do say cheapish but for one the build will NOT be cheap because that's what happens when you want flawless gaming and recording! Now an actual budget range would be ideal s'il vous plait

I would go at least for GTX 970 if you want to have 60 FPS @ 1080p. I have ASUS STRIX GTX 970 4 months and everything has more than 60 FPS @ 1080p, however I have older CPU so I am limited by it.

16 GB RAM is good enough, but I would change your CPU to some Intel Skylake (i5 or i7) and it will also require new motherboard. Personally I am planning to buy i7 Skylake in the nearest future (I hope price will go down when new Kaby Lake will be released).

don't buy a 960. The 1060 is out and costs the same and destroys the 960.

Monolith, with all do respect, it depends from where OP is located. Here a GTX 960 is around R$800 ( US$ 243.30 ), an 1060 is around R$2000 ( US$ 608.26 ). Meaning a GTX 960 costs more than a minimum salary already. A single 1060 is around 3/4 salaries. Depending on the OP's country this could be even worse.

Sorry for the late response...don't visit here too often anymore :D

I'm seeing a 200 Real difference....not the 1200 Real you are stating. $61 US is cheap enough to get the better of the two.

You are looking at the wrong place, MercadoLivre sellers hasn't dropped their price (some models). I was mistaken about the 1060 price though, 1070 is about the price I've stated. Nevertheless, it's not that cheap. U$ 138 difference is huge here (at least for me).

960: (R$ 814 w/o installments)

-- with this price difference I can upgrade other computer parts.
