Since this is L2 Support and the instructions say: If you are looking for a mob post on this board, I wanted to put up the link & information about the Drop Locator.

[Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...]

On the left side are two search boxes

If you are looking for a mob or NPC Type in the "Search Monster/NPC" the name or partial name, and it will bring up a list of matchs. Click again on the name for more incformation (And a map of the location)

Every Mob/NPC in the game is marked on the map with an X

If you go to that location on the map and find nothing, it is possible it is above or below your location. The necros/cata mobs dont say they are under the ground, but they are for example. Also some places have several layers like TOI. You will get used to those kinds of situations, but overall this droplocator is an extremely usefull tool, especially on quests.

Also if you are in the game looking for a mob, and you know it is near or you want to check if it is near you type /target name
If it becomes your target you can type it again to move to it, and you will start walking toward it.

Similar to the Monster Search is the Search Item. Here you can put in an item you wish to get as a drop or spoil, and it will tell you which mobs drop or spoil this and at what %. (remember that's before the drop rate for the server has been applied, so your drop rate will always be higher than this number)

You can click on the mob name and get more details about the mob, including location at this point.

Very handy tool, if you haven't checked it out, you should. ;)

Well, there are some mobs, that have their names in dropcalculator, but does not exist in reality. For example: Lesser Giant Shooter 63 lvl. He is not shown on the map, and don't exist in fact, though he should be in the Giant Cave.

P.S. Also here [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] All mobs, that give spoil of bw helm parts don't exist, exept Platinum Tribe Soldier. (invaders are out of the question)

And one more thing that confuses me... Why there are duplicates of mobs? Like 4 Kookaburras? Or almost all mobs in the Dragon Valley? The difference between them is their drop. And if the certain drop needed it becomes a double work to find the right one among others.

hello merla

well, some mobs are missing, thats true, but we work constantly on spawn- and droplist, so the missed ones will come somedays (not all together and not tomorrow, of course, its a hell of work to find out the right positions :rudolph: )

to your question about duplicated mobs, well thats quite easy.
1st of all, the droplocator uses the mob-database from npc-server.
2nd there are some multiple mobs with the same name, cuz some mobs uses metamorhosis during a fight or another action from the player to change their size or the look.
for your example, the kookabura (and the buffalos and cougars too) the situation is: if you feed this lil pet, it grows up to a big pet in four steps.
the bigger the animal, the bigger the drops if you kill it then.
many other mobs uses this duplicates too ( for example the sealed archangels, which spawns a second angel after you killed them...), but afaik this option isn´t available @ freeshared servers atm, it works correctly only @ the original retail servers (where i like to play too :police: to gather infos ).
Hope that helps

friendly regards LC
