I have no idea about the item stats/mixing/aging/monsters/maps/skills/gm commands this server uses.
All I Know is it works and is pretty darn good. Latest server update is from 3rd may 2012.

I suppose I should share what little I know.

MagicPT was an awesome PT pServer produced by a group of highly skilled and knowledgeable PT developers, many of whom frequented these forums. It deserved to run and run, on technical merit alone. However, there was some minor fall-out between the team and their lead developer near the launch. This produced early leaks of server files and many people who thought they knew sticking their nose in and stirring up the existing animosity.

Many leaks and harsh words followed and the server it's self did not last particularly long. I do not know exactly why, but I would suggest the number of alternatives trading on the same name would be one big reason, and grief among developers takes a lot of time out of actually getting any work done. It kills enthusiasm dead too, and for the most part, that is the primary fuel for a private server. Donations just grease the wheels and keep the engine cool. ^_^

I have some idea who may have been involved, but I wouldn't like to state what I have heard as fact... even from those who claimed to have been part of it. Largely because that is a lot of what caused the aggression in the first place, and what I have been told may very well be an untruth.

I believe that MysticPT was a precursor to Magic and shared some of the core developers. It shares many of the same features, but is not constructed as cleanly. Either an additional member contributed a large amount of professional standards to the team, if not technical know-how, or they learned a lot from creating Mystic and then went about implementing it all properly.

It would be lovely to know which happened, if only as a template for others.

MagicPT stats were mostly based from RealmPT, MagicPT was first intruduced as a "oldschool" type of server where u started lvl 1 and had to do most things the hard way, atleast in early MagicPT days. it all changed due to how big of a money lady rovarav became, but thats a whole another story.
I dont know if these files are infact MagicPT or MysteryPT.
MagicPT went pretty much downhill when Baris went MIA.
I was the first Head GM of MagicPT, went by the name of Furious.

Some commands appear to have been changed.

Yeah, did some searching through the server in hex.
I found that command has been changed to /mob

most commands was changed from english to german for security reasons

/gib_money = /get_money
/einfachcastle = /easy_castle
/schliessbc = /End_castle, i assume
/karte = /field

The files that SunnyZ have posted are MysteryPT files and I asked him not to make them public and he said he's not a bastard and he wont adversize them but as you can see he decided to make them public without a approval from mpt developers / admins. These files he posted are kinda old and are from 3rd may 2012 or whatever. I have in my hands latest mpt files from 11 July 2012 and if anyone interested in getting them contact me at my MSN Messenger: rovarav@magicpt.org

The real story of MagicPT/MysteryPT:
MagicPT started in year 2010 by Baris and me and we runned it 2 years + to 2012. In 2012 subagames decided to take down our web hosting and game hosting due to copyright infragment and we changed name of MagicPT to MysteryPT. After MysteryPT was online I decided to take break and Baris asked me if i agree to let VaGo be the owner of MysteryPT and I agreed. After some time VaGo kicked me from MPT due to some reasons and after that I took MysteryPT down and since then its down untill that moment and doesn't look like it will be back any time in the future.

These files shouldn't be public and SunnyZ got them by ept1.net FTP that was open by mistake to public. (ept1.net is the website of VaGo where he saved mysteryPT backups).

SunnyZ did a bad thing by make them public but still these files he posted are old and I got in my hands the newest ones include everything needed.

I can config the server for you and everything if i want to.

I didnt sell them in ragezone or any website. Just via MSN and its nothing of your business and I have the right to sell them cuz i worked my butt off for mpt for 2 years + together with baris... and I did a lot of work in them too

Either this files stay in ragezone or not. without the right configs no1 can make them work and I know that SunnyZ used something special to make them work (virutal server...). The way to config them only me and baris know and Baris is unactive so i am the only one that can config them right to make them work and keep develop them if needed

any server that exceeds the level of 140 is stupid. You run out of places to put your elite skill points.

I removed everyone's user and char dat files also the sql backups.
Made sure nothing of importance or personal info was released.

You tried selling me the admin files for $100.
I just thought hey, if you are willing to shut down and destroy the server you were kicked from purely out of spite, then go on and sell them for money, may as well give em to the kind, helpful people of ragezone for free.
