Hm, hundreds at minimum. If it's a decent source, should be able to handle 1k no prob.

Considering it's running BubblesDev, should be able to handle about ~500 players at most. If you really want to get the full potential, you'll have to improve most of the stuff in there. As well as it can run ~500 players, you'll still need to restart frequently.

The real question is how fast is your internet? With a good enough source you can overcome almost any hardware restrictions, but there's nothing you can do to lower network usage simply because you're forced to use Nexon's protocols.

Actually, which would be best of the following?

Code:
Processor: AMD Phenom II (6 Core) 2.8 GHz
Memory: 12 GB
Drives: 60 GB SSD, 1 TB HDD
Internet Connection: 12 Mbit Down, 2 Mbit Up
Location: Sweden, Europe
or
Code:
Processor: 2 x 2.6 GHz
Memory: 1 GB
Drives: 80 GB HDD
Internet Connection: 1 Gbps
Location: United Kingdom, Europe

The first one has overkill hardware specs and a crap connection. The second one has rather light hardware but probably a strong connection. If your source is extremely memory efficient (read: isn't a bloated pile of java crap), then using the second server is probably better. However, if your server is not able to handle hundreds of players at that level of hardware, then your only option is the first host, but because it has a crap 2 Mbit upload, you'd barely be able to handle that many players.

tl;dr If you server source doesn't suck use the second one, otherwise get a source that doesn't suck and then use the second one, unless the first one is just your PC, in which case just run it on your PC until you actually have enough players to warrant an upgrade.
