$150 to save probably a lot of people from learning the lesson that I did!
[UPDATE Tuesday, February 5, 2013]Just got a response from PayPal regarding the scam. Emailed PayPal all chat conversations, as well as pics of other ppl saying that they've been scammed by him. Requesting dispute to be put on hold for the moment, as Alex says that he'll be providing me with the base files for the website. If he doesn't provide me with them in the next three days, I'll continue fighting him with the dispute.

[UPDATE Saturday, February 2, 2013]Alex requested me to remove the image of MapleDeity's website. I did what he asked, because I thought that he was the one who created the design (because that's what the duck he told me). Now I find out that Crawl is the creator of the site. Take a look:

[UPDATE Friday, February 1, 2013] Sublime has contacted me, and explained himself. Apparently, he was sick due to the flu and has been on an unannounced period of absence. The site is still being worked on, or so I am told. Hopefully, I receive it. If not, then he's nothing but below a scammer, and the thread will be updated furthermore.

He also requested for me to remove MapleDeity's design.
And also requested me to say that he showed me code snippets of some donation page, to let every fabulous person know that he's been working hard on the site.





I do not expect to receive my money back, and I do not expect to receive any sort of website either.

You can't trust ANYONE in this corrupted community, and it Ducking sucks too that this happened but I'm just glad that it wasn't for more money than what it already was. This wasn't much of a big loss for me, and it's just good to know how poor Alex Huang really is.

To keep this brief, Sublime (Alex Huang) scammed me for $150 USD. I purchased a website from him, and was fed a bunch of shenanigans that just bought him time to keep making up excuses as to why I wasn't getting the website.

All in all, one and a half months rolled by in this whole process beginning at the point where I purchased the site and ending at where he decided to be a cat and block me on Skype & MSN. In these months, all I kept hearing from him was: "sorry just modifying css", "there's an exploit let me fix it", "I'm disappointed with my previous code bc i picked up a book and learned some new code so im gonna waste more time and recode the whole thing". And these are just a few of his excuses to buy himself time before he blocks me.

Notice the time stamp on the conversation that reads "12/15/13". Then take a look at the date the screenshot was taken at the bottom right area of his desktop. It says Ducking "12/01/2013" That's half a month's difference between when I asked for the screenshot. If you're going to provide me with a bogus screenshot of some design, at least make sure it's up to date with when I asked for it.

Also notice where he says that he's going to block out the logo because he 'messed up on it'. He didn't block out any logo because this is just one of his generic designs (probably isn't even his) that he wanted to feed me. This adds to the shenanigans scoreboard even more.

Sure, you do have smart developer friends, but everyone knows you as a desperate scammer who just wants $. All the proof above is just the minority of the rest of these silly conversations. Your rep is poop, regardless of how much you have on your profile. On a more serious note though... You do know that you could simply just call Paypal and calmly tell them what happened so that they can investigate and get you your money back, right? They're really nice when it comes to that stuff, they always helped me get refunds from people who scam me. Just don't act like a 10 year old and they'll give you the proper respect and help that you want.

Gift does protect from a user filing a charge back by the website, but if you call them and carefully explain the situation, they will understand and not care about whether you sent it as a gift or not. Paypal has a really beast customer support, at least to me they are. My balance would be negative without them haha.

EDIT: Be sure to show them as much evidence as possible! Stuff like chat logs isn't evidence though. You'd need actual screenshots of the conversation, that would serve better justice. Emails count, and stuff like that, just be sure to screenshot them. Anybody can edit text. Oh and that poor website design screenshot and an explanation of how that came about would be excellent for evidence.

Sending it by gift doesn't matter to them, really. I know this because of a first hand experience of getting my money back from someone who scammed me. I sent it as "Gift" too.

But yeah, try to stay away from saying anything about illegal activities. If anything, tell them it was for a fan site of a video game.

Good to hear that. And that is a great idea, mention that he has scammed others before and he isn't really new to scamming. They will terminate his Paypal account, lol. Revenge is a dish best served cold.
