on your second pc edit the file host using notepad. You can find this file under %system folder%\driver\etc

e.g. :c:\windows\system32\driver\etc

inside host you find
localhost 127.0.0.1

just add this line

<your no-ip domain here> <you lan ip here>

hope this helps

Make sure you give them your WAN IP.
You can use both your LAN IP and your WAN IP.

Re: [Guide] Setting Up - Microsoft Loopback Adapter

This isn't the same question. I've tried the looback adpater thing but Im not sure really hwo to work it. I ahve a Dynmic IP and I follwed the guide to setup with a Dynamic IP, My no-ip.biz is s7.no-ip.biz but the server runs perfectly fine. I use 2 comps considerign I ahev 3 at my house. 1 Hosts the server, another is used to play. The only problem I have is that I can't connect to my character, It logs in, goes to char screen but disconnects. Quote:

I tried exactly what this guy said but I don't think its helping. Im nto sure if I do this for the computer I play on or the one I use for the server, btb, where do I find my LAN IP? I really need help, 1 last thing I would like help with, I need someone to try to connect to my game to see if it will work. Connect using the Admin pass: Admin Account.

NOTE: IM NOT DOING THIS AS AN ADVERTISEMENT TYPE DEAL FOR MY SERVER, I SERIOUSLY NEED HELP! Please test it and add me on msn and tell me if you can log in. jonah_ray@hotmail.com

Here is the link to my client, please just test it out and not play, Thankyou!

Re: [Guide] Setting Up - Microsoft Loopback Adapter

Just to clarify some doubts.
AnotherStory, in your post #32, you're referring to methods of connecting to a v.57/v58 private server right? (since nexon check if IP is connecting to theirs)

also, is hoster or the players that add <your no-ip domain here> <you lan ip here> under hosts in system32/drivers/etc

thanks in advance

If you want to completly remove the connection not just disable it right click on my computer in the start menu, hit properties, hardware, Device manager click on the loop back networks you installed hit action and unintall. Hope it helped a bit

Re: [Guide] Setting Up - Microsoft Loopback Adapter

just to clarify you need to edit the file host on all pc on the lan to make it work.. so both client and server. wan user does not need to do this... and by any chance you used port 8080 instead of just 80 no-ip has a port re-direct feature...
