I have heard of this before, it was reported by Chobito on my dropdiscount topic but i couldn't get it to happen. As a quick fix you can re-enable DropDiscount in your worldsvr ini and it will replace ext pots with chaos lamps. I will have to try and make it happen so i can see what is wrong.

That isn't an error. the WAN check script will always be called on server startup but unless it is actually enabled it just says hi and exits. See the sticky in the main section for what to post if you have connection problems.

hi chump! its me again:) i got this error on DBAgent_log. Its seems my DB cannot connect to CentOS Machine... Im Using SQL Server 2000 sp3 Full Edition. Does the collation setting affects between the connection???

The collation does affect it but if you used my files there won't be a problem as i set the collation in the bash profile for you. The error is telling you that access was denied, it won't be disabled rmeote connections as mssql2000 does not default to disable these so it must be the userid. Try using mixed mode authentication and use your "sa" logon and pass as you can't have permissions problems with the sa logon.

hi chumpy, i need some help

i installed centos 4.7 in machine A and win xp + mssql 2000 in machine B
but centos machine cant connect to machine b to mssql i dont know why, its everything opened firewalls disabled but still cant connect

i have installed mssql in another machine

in this case machine C, can connect with machine B, (with sql query analyser)

tath tells me, machine B its ok with mssql ...

but centos still cant connect to mssql on machine B (i also tried to connect centos to machine C and still cant)

if i do a telnet i get "connection refused"

i let you mi log of DBAgent_24

i have installed a clean centos (machine A) with repack 2.5 i dont know wath else to do... i reed all topics in forums, still nothing

ei, sir chumpy i want to upgrade my server files, but the thing is an error popups that says no space left on my centos?

i allotted 3gb on my Vmware for Centos but how come the disk space is not enough? i already deleted and cleared my log files to make sure that i can have space more... but still this error appears...

please help, thank you...

btw, thanks sir chumps for the final repack...^^

sir cypher any suggestion on how to increase vmware space for centos ?or a way to clear tmp files of centos?

Sorry Cypher but i am going to have to prove you wrong on this one, we sometimes have to do this on virtual machines at work and if it works for windows it will work for linux too ;) There are 2 ways to do this, one easy and one hard and which you use will depend on how much free space you have.

The easiest way is to use the vmware converter utility (starter edition is free and has all you need). Basically you clone the virtual machine to a new one but you get the option to change a few bits like the disk size, network settings and things. It is very easy to do if you have enough HDD space to hold both the old and new one for a short time (so you can test the new one without losing the old) it is a perfect solution.

The other way is far more of a pain and it involves operating on your vm directly so if something goes wrong and you don't have a backup of the vm there is a small chance you could lose it altogether. This method involves running vmware-vdiskmanager.exe from command prompt to increase the size of the vmdk file (the virtual hdd). If you can't clone then this is pretty much your only way.

There is a short tutorial here on how to do both on a linux machine. I have not actually tested it on linux myself but i do windows a lot as i said and i know both methods are reliable. Cloning is far far simpler and if something goes wrong you still have your original VM so i would definitely suggest cloning.

For any type of connection problem clean logs are needed. There is a sticky int he main section that shows what i need to see.

On mssql 2005 the problem is usually either installing mssql as a "named instance" or not having remote connections enabled. My mssql install guide explains how to avoid both.

Put these in the same folder as the gm tools. These are needed and you are missing at least 1 by the look of it.

hello sir chumpy, i recently reinstalled my server and used your server files 2.5, i selected neptune as my server but the thing is the war channel isnt working sir... please help... the normal channel works fine. when i enter the war channel cant connect... thanks sir... :)

hi chump!

In your guides in creating a Linked server it says "DO NOT ADD YOU DATABASE USERNAME AND PASS!" on providing string of DRIVER={SQL SERVER}'SERVER=localhost;UID=;PWD=;.Which i followed you guide. But my centos machine cannot connect to DB, even using the sa userid. But when i put my SA account on providing string.. I can now conect to my DB and the server is fully working.... My question would be, Is there any issues on puting my SA account and PAss in providing string???

Excuse my stupidity,
Why I can't log in to game with right username and password.
It loads for long time until shows "... Please try again later"
But when I try wrong one, it replies they don't match.
....
Help me please T-T.
I use CabalToolz2 register. after registered, account amount still shows 0, though there are many ids.

Is the TG channel actually running? Many people have been confused by the fact that starting the server does not automatically start TG as TG does not work like that. TG will only start at scheduled times and running cabal_config does not schedule times, you need to run cabal_TG to set some. If you check your logs folder the TG process writes a log there so you can see if it is running at the times it should.

Change localhost to the windows ip. You can make it work putting userid int he connection string but it is not quite as flexible as providing the user in the server config.

The drops are the ones that came with the server files and i have not modified those at all. Cabal doesn't release much info on what drops what and most of the info you will find is based on what people have seen and some guesswork.

Tis one isn't your fault. It is the datetime problem again :( I have seen a few of these posted now but i don't know what causes it. The server can't calculate dates for some odd reason and the only real guess i have is that the date/time format on either centos or the windows computer is different to what the server expects. I would have to spend a bit of time using the profiler on an affected mssql install to really figure it out. Maybe a small guide on using the profiler so people can upload the reports would help. Hmmmm.

Lol :lol: Yeah that won't work. Run cabal_config again and let it work out the IP for you. I guess you pressed y at the wrong time hehe.

I have deleted all of the copies of v2.0 i have on my mirrors (i usually do). v2.5 is much improved over 2.0 so i would suggest using the latest, but if you really want the v2.0 files then you can download them below (give it about 2 minutes for the upload to finish).

rigth now im using all of your files and i findout some bugs :

1- i cant wispering no body

2- when i try to create a guild say me "Can not conect to server, can not initiate the messenger service"

3-i cant add people to "Body" (friends)

4-sometimes when i go to a dugeon the take it off me

After all is working good.

Can you tell me if i do somthing wrong?, because i follow your guides at the foot of letter and everything was OK.

Note: Im using server 09 (Sirius)
