You guys made sure you have correct IP in client?
And I don't think DNS will work..
And @ errors.. Remember to start em in correct order.

again dont ask retard questins, yes i got correct ip. dns works fine ebenezer and all shit can conect fine, checked users and all that.

it does says cannot find procedure xxxx in the login server log and a few column errors. but that doesnt explain why i get failed connecting. the db is not wrong i tryed it with 3 others aswell. maybe the server files?

u dont got the MAP folder in it, copy 1 from ebenezer and paste it.

Thx for the great tutorial, i think i got it working. There is one mayor problem though, the client 1299 from the third link contains a virus!! (Trojan horse PSW.Agent.STG, detected with AVG 8) Can this link be replaced by a link to an infection free client?

Leave the default path alone. For server name, change it to whatever you want. PM Me, I think your IPs are wrong...

I'm sorry, but I cannot help you with this. I don't have your router, and if it's not on that portforwarding site I posted, then I dunno how to help you. I would suggest searching it on google.com

I was told that all v1298 launchers [Launcher.exe, KnightOnLine.exe, and whatever else you name it] all have like dead trojans, and it was used by GMs to check for outside illegal programming and cheating. Hell, it even appeared on my anti-virus, but I left it alone. If that trojan was in the launcher or knightonline.exe, disregard it. If it was in another file, I'll try to get you a "clean" version of that file. However, I scanned my client before launching, and I only got that dead trojan thingy. So, I'm pretty sure you guys got the infected launcher. If you still don't believe me, find another client.

Alright, everything is set up and working...

so after running the four .exe and such should it automatically load the v129x client or what do i do to get the game up and running...

My goddamn server management won't connect now and I can't connect to my ODBC. I followed your tutorial exactly and it doesn't work. It worked when I made it, but now every time I try to connect I can't!

Hmm...try reinstalling SQLEXPR*** and toggle Mixed Mode when you reach the page with the Authentification stuff. That's what a friend told me.

@ironfist, you need to get a client. There's one in my post if you want to use that one, or use your own if you got special fixes only in your server. After the four .exes are launched, if the only problem you get is "QUEST INFO READ FAIL" from launching ebenezer.exe, you should be able to play.

@dietje, I think you have a .INI error.

@kremkaft, I'll try putting them on another host site later.

(Got the maps files in both aiserver\maps and ebenezer\maps)

Anyone have a solution to this?

When there's no NPCs, I think it's because ebenezer didn't connect AiServer successfully. Check in your ebenezer window. Does it say Ai Server Connect Success!! - 0, all the way up to 9? Does it spam All monster info received!!?

NOTE: Database backup directions added.

Thanks for the guide to start.
I didnt get very far and i have a problem connecting to the sql studio express. It gives me error that it wont connect to a remote connection. Error 26. i searched google but i didnt find much that helped me. Also i have vista if that helps.

Thank you for posting this guide. I have it all up and running, The reason I coundn't get it b4 was that i was trying to do it on Vista. :/
