[Fix] Could not open...not the right kind of document.

Getting this error when you try to open a .BMP.DDS file?

Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document.

To fix this,

1. Look for Prefs.psp in your Adobe Photoshop folder. Protip : Use windows search if you can't find it.
2. Rename Prefs to Prefs.old, so you get Prefs.old.psp.
3. Restart Photoshop.

Really cant find it except Adobe Photoshop CS4 Prefs , is this it?

How do we fix it if we are using a portable version of photoshop? :L. Please reply via PM if you can help me!.

edit: Okay i found Adobe Photoshop Prefs.psp and renamed it to Adobe Photoshop Prefs.old.psp but I'm still getting this error, could this be because im using a portable version of photoshop?
