I'm just getting back into this. I've had a server running un-updated with MangownsDB and Mangoscript since March. Thought I'd build another machine with latest stuff and then port my characters over. So I'm not exactly a noob but there's some new things going on with Mangos and UDB. I updated my client to 2.2.3 and I downloaded the ad.exe and vmaps extractor you have listed here. The ad.exe file wouldn't run. I had a ad_tbc.exe file from earlier this year and that ran (this may be my problem) ran dbc and vmap extractors. Got everything set up in MySQL. Realmd runs fine, but Mangos gives me a couple errors

Is it because I have the wrong files in my C:\Mangos\maps and C:\Mangos\vmaps folders that I get this error? Data dir ="" in conf file.

I disabled Vmaps and I still get a similar error. I downloaded a new copy of ad.exe from mangosproject.org and I'm running that right now to see if it works.

yeah it sounds like your maps. for ad.exe make sure there is a maps folder in the client directory too.

It was the maps. Downloaded ad.exe from mangosproject.org and that one worked fine and I was able to get mangos to run. Thanks.

I might add more to the guide about the registration page. if you don't want to wait for it try sending me a message on aim.

When I say might is because I am limited because of my dailup lacking the need for a router and exernal non win modem.

i did everything as it was on the guide but i get the error pinback has. I logon server but other people can't, it says Connected and it stucks. can someone help me? please

That's a port forwarding issue. Lookup (

) your router and make sure that you port forawrd the right ports. Now 1024 to 65535 can be used. Make sure you state that the port is to be used for the WTF config file (Example my.ip.com:6969 or

) on the client. If you choose to open ports 1024 to 65535 then you'll not have to specify the game port. Doing so will open you up to volunerabilities.

dagamerc13, Frame work must be installed. Might wanna make a comment that they'll need to update thier windows to frame work 2.0.

be more specific on your error.

Uhh... for my error, i tried using MySql 5.0 but for some reason it said that it couldnt connect to the server.

heres the error i get when i follow guide and load the sql files from the mangos files i got from the guide when i press restore from sql dump
it says this There was an error while executing a query.

try using the unified database instead of the database that comes in mangos. the one in mangos doesn't have any npc or creatures.

So this is my first time even USING sql, or Mangos, or making a private server. I followed the guide to the letter, until I got to the part of making databases, and I kept getting errors (see below). Have any solutions?
