MapleStory Private Server Development

This section is moderated under the RaGEZONE Forum Rules, as well as rules designated for the MapleStory Private Server Section. Failure to follow these rules will result in a warning, infraction, and/or ban depending on the severity of the issue at hand. These rules are effective as of Monday, October 18, 2010.

[Help] tags or prefixes are not needed as this is the Help section. The only required tag is [Request] if you are posting a thread specifically for someone to do something for you.

Creating a thread

  • Stating what the problem is you are having.
  • Showing a picture of the error, if there is an error. This can be found on your Channel.bat.
  • If the problem is with an NPC, please post the NPC script, as well as the error, also found on the Channel.bat.
  • When posting an NPC script, please use
    PHP:
tags. If done correctly, it will look similar to this.
    [php]I'm in a php tag

    Script goes in these :)

It makes the script easier to read for others so they can help you better.
  • Post all errors found on Channel.bat in
    Code:
tags. If done correctly, it will look similar to this.
    [code]Error on line blah blah
  • Try to type as clearly as possible, so it is easier to understand what you are asking.

Posting in threads

  • Do not troll
  • Do not spam, insult or flame other members. There is a difference between proving a point and flaming someone.
  • Do not make a post with only images, smileys, and/or videos.
  • Do not make a post only to say "Thanks".
  • Do not bump any thread older than 5 days since the last post. The only exception to this is if you're the thread starter.
  • Do not mini-Mod. If you have an issue with a post/thread, use the (Report) function. It is not your job to tell a Moderator how to do theirs.
  • Do not post in a thread if you're not going to help at all. The littlest suggestion can solve the members problem, but problematic posts resolve nothing. This is the Help section, where people come to get the help they need. If you aren't going to help, then don't come into the section.

Posting a Request
If you are requesting for someone to do something for you, please try to follow these guidelines. They are:

  • State what it is you want to be done.
  • Include specific details about how you would like it to be done.
  • Try to type as clearly as possible, so it's easier to understand what you are requesting.

A good request is more likely to get a response than a bad one. Below are examples of both good and bad requests.

Good request

Hi, my name is Shawn. I would like to request for help with "insert what you want help with here". It should "insert what you want it to do here". I would also like it to "insert additional details here". Thank you very much.

Bad request

Hai, sumwan mek meh a "insert what you want help with here".

1/9/11: If your problem has been solved, please edit the title to say [Solved] in front. Example: [Solved]NPC Issue

Be sure to check these rules often, as they will change without notice.
