Hi there RageZone! Long time lurker, first time poster.
79Online is a project that I've had planned for many years, despite not being a developer. I've spoke to many people over the years and the interest in a 79 Cap server was surprisingly more than I expected.
The concept is very simple: A 79 Cap Legacy server that's as close to retail as it once was. Standard, aggravating rates, an intense lack of CS and a real sense of adventure and challenge. Created by the community, for the community. Self-sustaining and as non-profit as possible.
Originally I had planned to work on the server myself but due to my semi-retarded brain and lack of time I really couldn't comprehend a lot of the ins and outs. Awhile ago I played around a little with the Shine files and a Dedi and had a terrible, but working version of 79Online. A few months later I was talking with a close friend and a developer, who has great old files but no server files - we had planned to use the emulator he was working on to use those files and create our authentic experience. But he is far too busy with his job. I gave up hope for a few months and realised RageZone might be the place to post and try to help this come alive.
If any of you Fiesta Vets, experienced developers or just like-minded individuals are interested in contributing to this project and helping me relive my childhood please post below.
Here's a trailer I created months back when we were full steam ahead.
I realise this is a long shot and I'm not expecting a miracle. But I've got my fingers crossed a few of you might be interested in doing something like this and finally giving me the game I've been dying to play again for many many years. All the best!
