Re: A Guide to An ACE Online

You probably didnt do it the right way. I havent tried it but im 99% sure it works if done correctly. Btw, for masang it should be piece of cake to make a client that doesnt have an interface since they have the source. Maybe its a flag somewhere that if disabled the interface wont be printed.

Re: A Guide to An ACE Online

I meant a flag in the code. Like "#define SHOW_INTERFACE true/false" and depending on the build the client shows or not the interface. I dont think theyd include such features in a public release tho.

Re: A Guide to An ACE Online

But that doesn't explain the part where they hide nicknames, since those are server sided and not part of the interface.tex, they're just text.

Re: A Guide to An ACE Online

I found another way to prove you wrong.

Day at the Races, an event that happened in AR. One of the staff recorded a video of it and posted it on Youtube. And there's a part where his entire interface is hidden except for the shield/energy/fuel/sp meter (yes, including player names) and then out of nowhere it appears again, which makes me think it's some ability tacked onto the F "hide interface" key that GMs have. I just can't reproduce it.

This video, check around 1:10 for that feature I mentioned.

EDIT: Obviously a staff member from AR completely unrelated to Masang doesn't have access to the source. He's not even the CoMa or even the GA.

Seems interesting. Maybe as i said they use a special client.

Oh well... Look at settings in game

Re: A Guide to An ACE Online

Settings? Hmm... maybe it only works in EP 3 since the settings window (the one opened with ESC) was changed from EP 2 to EP 3 and I don't see anything that might hide the interface in my EP 2 server.

That means I have to do some database work and install EP 3 if I want to get that feature :p

Re: A Guide to An ACE Online

Its not that difficult. You just need to read whats the progress so far rather than asking step by step what to do.
