A Little About Me: I'm 24 years old, and work full time, however I am active on these forums, even when I'm mobile. I love helping people and respect the rules.

Why I am Applying: I've been an active member of RaGEZONE since 2006, I was active in the R.O.S.E online section for the longest time but I have found a new favorite, Pokemon. I was a big part of getting the section added, and I really want to see it flourish, I contribute a lot to this section and the need for some organization is great. I don't just see this as opportunity as moderation of a section but rather leading the section to be as functional, easy to understand and fun as possible.

Here's a few that are just for the pokemon section.

Experience: As posted above i have been active in the ROSE section and from being active there i have learned C++ in order to help the server as osROSE is coded in C++. I also learned vb.net and C# for lack of anything better to do, and even though people may hate vb.net i love it. I recently started learning java so i can develop the Pokemon source, though i still have a lot to learn i feel like i am progressing well and my experience with the other coding languages help me to learn this new one. Being an active developer in a section you want to mod is important to me, because the person will know the answer to most questions asked and are more likely to respond then just leave the person hanging.

// Old
I am also currently head dev. at the largest pokemon mmo pserver running pokenet we have a dev team of 5, i know my way around the source and the section.

// New
So its been three years since i posted this topic, and nothing has come of it yet, i decided to update my post with some more recent developments in that section as well as some other releases on my part. I still think this section needs a moderator because we do get people posting in the wrong section or not following basic rules etc.

More info available on request.

Thanks.

I agree, and I would allow him to 100% take my spot as the moderator there. He is the most active user in the section and know his way around all the emulators that pop-up in the section.

No offence but I didn't understand any of that. If makarov would give his position away willingly, it means he's a good candidate and makarov knows it.

I'd like to vouch for -Default too.

He's active and very familiar with the Pokemon section and has contributed a great deal of time and effort to the section and it's community.

I personally think it would be of greater benefit since over the past week or so, the section has been growing quite a bit, and he's one of (if not the most) experienced contributors to the Pokemon section.

Small section, old user and member of RZ, contributed quite a bunch, developer, English seems to be fine, fine app,

Why not? :thumbup:

Why not?

Maybe because we might have way too many moderators right now.

Don't give up though.

Well for a small section like Pokemon global moderators aren't going to put all that much time into the section, which is why 1 moderator would be enough and Makarov thought I would do an exceptional job in the section. Since it's pretty small I know I can handle it.

A small section wouldn't have much problems either right.

Theres also already a capable moderator. We would mod people if the section was causing trouble for one mod but I see no trouble so I see no need for another mod.

Just what I think.

Double posting to bump, considering its been 6 months and I haven't had the topic closed I'm going to assume that Mental hasn't had a chance to look over this thread and / or made a decision. Since I have posted this topic the section has been without a moderator since Makarov has been doing his habbo thing and programming android applications. The section needs a moderator to close dead topics and sticky helpful ones, the section have very little organization and people keep posting the same problem and spamming old threads trying to find answers. Hopefully you have the chance to look over this thread this time around. Thanks.

:O: Makarov I name you! :lol:

I presume the work load is too heavy for him alone?

He spends most of his time on habbo or android application programming... he was an active mod in the section for the first few months but he asked me to make an application to mod the section since i am the most active there and the most helpful, i was the reason the section got added.
As you can see in the first page Makarov supports me getting this position.

Actually, DarkKnightH20 recommended me as his help for much the same reasons.

I wouldn't ever suggest he wasn't doing his job though. Only that I had built up a reasonable following and encouraged people to share developments in as civil a manner as I could as a regular user. When flame wars break out ... well, I'm on the other side of the Atlantic to him and none of us are on 24/7. :wink: It's too distressing to see your friends pulling each other apart and no-nothing idiots winding them up. (kids in the playground chanting "Scrap! Scrap! Scrap! Scrap! Gowan, hit 'im!" ... "What are they fighting about?" ... "IDK, but it's gonna be so cool! They're really p***ed! [teeheehee]" :glare:)

I'd managed to cool some with diplomatic reasoning, but it's quicker and easier to have the authority to just say "No!.. We are not having that conversation here. Go outside and cool off"" :lol:

No, I like the application, and Makarovs' recommendation. I don't really think -DefaulT meant what I suggested he did either, but I didn't like how easy it was for me to do that. (my diplomatic slant again :wink: -- you know when you just know someone is going to take something the wrong way?)
