Ping linux ip from windows
and ping xp ip from linux

and see results..

If don't work , you didn't configured ip's and network cards good..

i Followed a toturial saying to install windows loopback and edit the settings to 192.168.5.1 and use it on visual and insert 192.168.5.1 on the sysintall and on Fterm.

I need a step by step how to make a server >.>

i Followed a toturial saying to install windows loopback and edit the settings to 192.168.5.1 and use it on visual and insert 192.168.5.1 on the sysintall and on Fterm.

Server is maked you just need to configure IP'S ...

There already are private servers...
hackalin is trying to get a VPS to set one up...
And I am willing to translate the Chinese to English.

What you mean???
Sorry, I don't understand...


You need FREEBSD or what ever... That linux based OS to start up the server...
You just need to install the OS on the dedi, or where ever you are planing to set the server up...

If its on your own PC I would recommend use Virtual Box, unless its specifically for the Metin server...

yeah im planing to set it up on my dedicated server
so far i never setup any mmorpg through virtual machine
only through mssql/mysql so i'm kinda new in this.

windows 2003 OS so you mean i should format it and install Linux instead?

Yep, that's right, install FREEBSD on the dedi, or if you don't want to have FREEBSD on dedi, install Virual Machine, and then install FREEBSD on there.

okay i got your point but i'm stuck on the virtual machine step
after i'm done installing it and running it , it tell me that i need to reboot and insert cd :O:
or when i choose use existing virtual hard disk
i need .vhd file which i dont have :\

any help?

I am not familiar with Virtual Machine, I have not used it yet...

Hmm metin2 is based on JPEG images But it rocks ...
Custom quests , custom npc talk and quest rewards and other monsters we can made , it's easy
