okay, all files changed to 192.168.178.x
now i test it again

---------- Post added at 10:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:32 PM ----------

okay, i do eveverything what u said,
change all 192.168.0.x ip to 192.168.178.x in every file which needed
and i use bridge connection with my wlan, also active the function which alouds VirtualBox Host-Only Network share the inet connection.
then i start again, i can ping my router, but lose my internet connection, then i ping to the internet.. nothing again :(:

okay, now i can ping to my router, but not to the internet
this is my interface
# The primary network interface
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.178.10
netmask 255.255.255.0
network 192.168.0.0
broadcast 192.168.178.255
gateway 192.168.178.1
# dns-* options are implemented by the resolvconf package, if installed
dns-nameservers 192.168.178.1

You dont need internet connection sharing on. Try turning it off and see if it helps.

if you have a native linux server with a wlan card you just have to change eth0 to wlan0.
With vBox in bridged mode it doesn't metter if your hostcomputer of the vbox have a cable or wireless connection.

Sorry for bumping this topic, but I managed to get everything working, except now when I put the IP or hostname in my serverlist.txt, i can't connect to the server. I can ping to it from Vbox, but I get the -- thing in PW and can't connect to it. Does it only work if you have a router? I only have a modem, and I tried opening port 80 but that didn't help either.

Perfect World uses port 29000. Try opening that. Idk if it will work with a modem. Also try a site like and type the ip of your server eg myserver.no-ip.biz and 29000 in the port and see if its open.

Hmm, it's closed. I tried opening it with my firewall but it still shows as closed. How can I open it?

I managed to open it, but I still can't connect. It waits for 40 seconds then disconnects. :(

I have made that Tutorial with the Harace release, cause I think that's the most up to date startingpoint for the most of you.
So it should be Ubuntu 8.04.
I'm not that shure, because i don't have that image anymore.

I opened ports 29000 and 8080. I only opened 8080 so that my friend can use pwAdmin. You can get people to register with on port 80 which you may need to forward.

I used this site to test my if my ports were forward properly.

I assume you are using bridged mode for your server connected to a router? Did you forward the ports to your server or the host machine (if using vbox)?
