WZ [TUT] Retrieve Map Background Image from Map.wz

DISCLAIMER:
Yes, I know you can use HaRepacker to extract the .xml files.

This is my very first simple tutorial, which basically teach you how to pull out the background image of a particular map from the Map.wz file.

Tools required:

You must be registered to see links

Or else you can get your Map.wz from your Maplestory folder.

Instructions:
Open up MapEditor.exe

File > Open > Select Map.wz (do make sure you duplicate the file somewhere else to prevent modification and corruption to occurs on your source file)

Now, simply type or pick the name of the maps from the list and double click or 'Select'.
In my case, I will pick Kerning City, the background map is a bit tricky. Therefore, I'm gonna use this for ya'all to learn.

Untick all other tools except 'BACK'.
The square thingy(beside the Magnet) must be unticked.

A very clean background without any other objects blocking the view.
You may now, perform a 'Print Screen' or use Snipping Tool.

Paste it on Paint.
My case, I'm using dual screen and so that's how it looks like.

As you can see, there's a white little boxes which I highlighted with red.
You may need a big large display monitor to find these white boxes, I'm using a 24" screen.
Those are where the background image repeats.
So, I cropped the image so that only 1 white box will appear. Make sure you crop where the white boxes ends.

Should looks like this.

Simply save it and you're done.
To check whether you have successfully cropped the image correctly.
Simply open up paint and enlarge the whiteboard of the width to the maximum.
Copy and paste your background. It should fit on the side. Then, paste it the background once more. Try your best to fit in on the side of the background image. Be careful tho.

If you followed my procedures correctly, you should end up with this.

A very perfect background that loops correctly.
Very good for web designing if you understand what I meant.

ps Other Maps are way easier to get without cropping any shitties stuff if they are full sized image.

Or you can just open up your map.wz in Harepacker, go to back, look for the map you want, Export > png.
It's useless to do it this way, and takes more time.
