Tutorial on how to bypass the pain of having everyone to change their launcher configuration file everytime your wan ip changes.

1. Go to and register yourself an account there.
2. Login.
3. Underneath the 'Hosts/Redirects' on the left panel, click 'Add'
4. Fill in the information.

Hostname: roseon.*selectyourdesireddomain.com.info.org.whatever*
Host type: DNS Host (A)
IP Address: *already there*

Now create host.
5. Go to the downloads tab at the top
6. Download the windows version of the program.
7. Install the download and run the program.
8. When it asks for a username and password, put in your no-ip account details in.
9. When hosts show up, tick the box with your previously created host.
10. Now close the window, or in options, make it run when windows starts.

11. Now to edit the lconfig.nhd file which makes the launcher now what server to connect to.
12. Edit it with these settings

[CFG]
Server=roseon.*selectyourdesireddomain.com.info.org.whateverfromstep4*
HTTPReg=
HTTPNot=

13. In the worldserver.conf loginserver.conf and charserver.conf files, change the ip address value to whatever your host is.

e.g.
[SERVERDATA]
serverid=1
servertype=2
serverip=ekrose.no-ip.org <---- Change this value to whatever your host is (roseon.*whatever.com*)

PS: This is good when:
1. you change hosts, people who already play your server dont have to change any of the lconfig.nhd settings. this works around the pain of telling people to edit stuff that looks like gibberish to them.
2. works around dynamic wan ip address

(akai, i request a sticky for this or a merge with your guide topic)

what about lanip and submask?
What about them?

When you say LAN IP, you mean that you have a LAN, and a gateway to the internet (WAN) beyond that. (usually a domestic Router or Modem / Router) The function of such gateways is to act as the single entry point (hence the name) for all traffic on the other side. From the internet, your IP and Subnet is defined by your ISP, and allocated to the router. (your "gateway" to the internet) All machines on your LAN will appear to have the same IP as each other. They don't, because they aren't visible to the internet. From the point of view of the internet, your LAN is a single machine; the gateway machine, which is actually a small server embedded into your router / modem.

Does that make any sense? Or am I just muddying the water more? XD
