need help commands not working in vbox

hi what it is im using ubuntu through vbox and the following commands aint working

apt-get install openjdk-6-jre

apt-get install php5

apt-get install php5-mysql

apt-get install php5-curl

anyone got any idias

First of all lets start by that what kind of OS you're using CentOS or Debian based also posting a screenshot of the error would help a lot.

You need to do sudo apt-get update then sudo apt-get upgrade. Then try again
