Right, I recently got an android and I'm going to make a tutorial that will be extremely easy to understand. (Hopefully). There shall be no trouble with the gba-bios.bin as I found a beyond helpful application that can help us with that. Hope this tutorial will help somebody.
Step 1: On your android phone go to this link, open it up and install it.
Step 2: Go to this link also on your android phone, this will install the gba-bios.bin on your sdcard for you, no trouble!
It should look like this once installed.
Make sure to select Game Boy Advance Bios, and browse somewhere you will remember such as sdcard. Next, click Generate BIOS Files.
Step 4: Open up the Gameboid emulator, it will ask for a bios file. Search for the bios file you just installed, hit gba-bios.bin and voila.
GAMEBOID IS NOW SET UP. NOW FOR GETTING ROMS. THIS PART IS IMPORTANT.
Step 5: Next you shall want some roms. You will be needing AndroZip to unzip the files containing the gba roms once you have downloaded them.
Download here.
Step 6: Search for a good rom site such as romulation.net, or whatever you feel. Download the file and open it. It will give you to options: Complete this operation using AndroZip or Gameboid. Click AndroZip. It will say 'Unpacking RAR'.
Step 7: It may extract the GBA to a folder named AndroZip. If this is the case open up your regular file manager, in sdcard locate AndroZip, hold down touch on the rom you just unpacked and click move. Move it to your desired location. I tend to create a folder named 'GBA ROMs'.
Step 8: Re-open gameboid, select the rom you just downloaded! Have fun.
Here are some screenshots I took on my android.
Pokémon ftw!
Additional notes about Gameboid:
There are cheat options, fast forward options and more.
Hope this tutorial was somewhat useful.
