There has been a lot of talk lately about the fact that the source code for Soulworker has been leaked.

This was even mentioned publicly on the famous Burning Soulworker server discord some time ago, and in other places too.

One example among many that was forwarded to me and that talks about it:

Just to let others know:
- The server still runs just fine on Win11.
- But the client will crash at startup on Win11. It still works for Win10, though.

I wish someone could find a workaround or a fix for client to run on Win11.

Hi,

I've been able to make the server to launch but unable to connect to it.

Sometime, the game close himself when I've entered my login and password, sometime I have this error and tje game close just when I click on OK

Any idea what's happen here?

I use a VPN to play, and I set the IP of the VPN in the config file here: PUBLIC_IP=vpn.ip (each time needed) and in start_sw.bat.

Reading through the chats.... Did anyone think to actually try to fix it themselves? I am not a pro and after about 30 years I moved from windows to linux which general is a lot harder but because of these files, it prepared me so I semi know what I am doing. Plain and simple Don't just piggy back and get aggro or w/e because it does not work for you. Learn to figure stuff out yourself.

I am limited on time. I got Aura Kingdoms files and it did not work out of the box. There was a lot of problem with ip's etc that was not explained in the guide. So I went through every files and changed the IP and the location of a lot of files and got it working. I don't think I am better than anyone else because I am not. I just took a little time at night to sort it out.

If you think this is difficult. Try running diablo 3 from a xeon server and get your desktop to connect to the server as it's not just ip addresses changed etc. There you have to build the emulator/change files and change host file to be able to connect. I didn't set it up in a vm as I didn't alter any files, just the host file.

Sorry for the long post. We'll I am busy downloading this as the links are still active. Will see if it work and If not I'll find a way (sniff, why did zippyshare die)

I eventually got time to work on this over the weekend. I did get a few errors that I will address when I have time. I am running it through a vm machine. The reason I predict that I got is 1 of 3 options.

1.I misunderstood the last query ( I am not native English )

2.The code that you posted are not the same between the code you posted and the image you post are not the same. It does not completely understand the code ( there are errors )

3. My AMD Ryzen are parked for upgrades. My I 7 blew 2 caps. so for the time being I am using an AMD-3870K now she only has 8gb memory and only quad core cpu ( no SMT ). Even on linux I would exceed 8gb ram so the vm cannot handle the load.

Today, If I find the time. I'll move everything to my server and try it again. Why I didn't do it the first time is.... Meh I am a lazy bugger.

If you have the specs you can run a vm to handle the windows 2016. I am busy with it. If I can get it working and it's ok with the OP, I can post a link to my google drive. It's Only If I can get it working as I am really busy at the moment.

PS: You can install windows 2016 from OP, He has it linked.

Edit: 1: Ok my hunch was right. My current work pc has an RX470 but only 8gb ram and 4 cores no SMT. Moved the vbox to my server. She has 12c/24t and 32gb ram. Assigned 6c ti vbox and 10gb ram and started no errors. I will go through the discord server as the only problem I have is the anti-cheat. I don't think it's necessary a client error. How I have to run it is through wine cmd which is familiar as it's windows based but now the anti-cheat blocks me. I'll figure it out though. It should technically connect but we never know.

Edit 2: Game stars after anti cheat disable But.... When Logging in it would go as to log in and fade in show the Soulworker logo then fade back out to logging screen. Will investigate when I have time. This may just be a Linux problem.
