    As you might know DayZ Standalone has come a long way since it's beginning in August of 2012. From the source leaks, to game breaking bugs, to over 2 million copies sold world wide or to zombie's walking through walls.. it's fair to say the boys at Bohemia Interactive have had there work cut out for them

    This thread is here purely for anyone to ask and talk about the development, bugs or any ideas they would like to see in DayZ Standalone. It's not a thread to post hacks, insult others on their opinions or just flame and be rude in. Doing any of those 3 will result in an infraction no second chances.

    Quick overview of DayZ;

    DayZ is a MMO open world survival horror video game in development by Bohemia Interactive and the stand-alone version of the award-winning mod of the same name. The game was test-released on December 16, 2013, for Microsoft Windows via digital distribution platform Steam, and is currently in early alpha testing.

    The game places the player in the fictional 225km2 post-Soviet state of Chernarus, where an unknown virus has turned most of the population into violent zombies. As a survivor, the player must scavenge the world for food, water, weapons, and medicine, while killing or avoiding zombies, and killing, avoiding or co-opting other players in an effort to survive the zombie apocalypse.

    DayZ began development in 2012 when the mod's creator, Dean Hall, joined Bohemia Interactive to commence work on the standalone version of the game. The development has been focused on altering the engine to suit the game's needs, developing a working client-server architecture, and introducing new features like diseases and a better inventory system. The game has sold over 2 million copies since its alpha release. At Gamescom 2014, it was announced that DayZ would be coming to the PlayStation 4
    Currently we're on build 0.51 which has resolved a few bugs but not all. So far we've seen a lot of new features been implemented such as tents, new guns, diseases, but how ever haven't seen much performance issues fixed. As stated by Dean Hall, by the end of 2014 (which is now) We would be getting our hands on the first BETA version. Hopefully with this it'll bring some performance updates with it (and hopefully UI updates )

    Personally, I'd like to see just straight out performance updates. They have attempted to fix some before in versions 0.40 and 0.41 - How ever after that I haven't seen much performance increased sadly.

    New animations + audio:

    • Placeholder SFX for improvised suppressor (standard suppressor SFX).



    Map:

    • All old rocks models have been removed and replaced with new ones.



    Reworked locations:

    • Devil’s castle.
    • Pik Kozlova.
    • Black & Willow Lakes.
    • Bor village.
    • Quarry near Solnichny.


    Fixed:

    • Pouches for vest is now displayed properly in hands.
    • Suppressor position on Longhorn while reloading.
    • Message when loading ruined ammo.
    • Spliting stone using pickaxe will give you smaller stone with correct damage state.
    • You can no longer use mace for cutting raincoats into armbands.
    • Mace can no longer be used for skinning.
    • Force feeding guts text.
    • Thermal mechanic fixes.
    • Server stability fixes.
    • Performance fixes (server).
    • Bullet penetration fix.


    Known issues:

    • Animals spin in one place.
    • Animals die randomly.
    • Animal navigation.
    • Animal animations are playing at a wrong resolution.
    • You can drive v3s while knocked out.
    • Only 1 person can get on back cargo of v3s.
    • Random desync.
    • Random client crashes.
