other then the fact that it's in CHINESE the Repent client is FUGLY and i know ALLLLLL about the difference between the two I have them both.....it doesnt matter. I will make it work. I will just have to like angle said packet sniff the correct table headings in the DB and write the correct storedproceedures. WHich I have already started. But I do not anticipate too many changed because if there is one think i know about MGAME............THEY ARE LAZY and didnt change much. It will take me longer if I have to do it by myself but now that LOA is closing their service then I am HELL BENT!!

WPEpro shows that the packet error is the user/pass I am trying to send the server.......*sigh*......gatta find the correct table headings. added u angel.

i was thinking of re sqriping loa in c-lite or c++ but i gues this is a lot faster
source code for the game and login servers are available so really no need to start from scratch. its just figuring how different the database is for repent.....like i said i dont think it is very different....i can only invest small chunks of time on this so it is a slow process.
angel, i can help you get this set up on your system all the way to the point I am so we can co-op on this if you want. I have not posted the latest DB files I have made so far becuase of leechers.

I just came back to LoA after 2 years and a day after my return I find out a friend passed away and the server is closing, I was looking forward to playing again, I had pretty awsome gear as well lol.

Question, See repent, ive never heard of it before, was it a previous game that got shutdown? I tried googling it and I managed to find myself here lol.

SOrry to hear your misfortunes Ronohora. We will give it all we have until it is a success. I said over a year ago that I would do it and although it is slow on my own I have not given up. and now angel is here to help :)
Yeah, look I spent Close to a Year playing with this Server..... for you who don't know me i was the Cloest to ever getting it working.. Most people here know me As SilentCurse or Chris.
The Problem That stopped me was a Missing Itemlist Table. No matter what i did it wouldn't go. I altered the Itemtable on the Server and Client to No items at all so it was Equal But still no go.
The Problem lied in the Client it self, I Don't have the Time on my hands to recreate the Client from the Existing Client so it clearly won't work till then.
For the People here that wants to give this ago, Good luck :) seriously C# and C++ Has not thing to do with fixing the problem.
Even if you got it going you need the people who helped you get it going in the first place cause you had no idea what you we're doing from the start. so good luck Altering it, Good luck Make Patches to better the game.
My Progress got me to Being in game for about 2-5seconds then it would crash cause of the Itemlist.
By The Way, I never worked with anyone else Besides Redz.... Everyone that was mentioned with me we're people i needed to Connect to my Server as a test of connecting up Via WAN.

For the People That Really want this going, You need the whole Patch list from Mgame KR :)
there is about 254 Patches that you want to download and use with the testing.
also Use the Beta Client as a Test with the Test Client. DO NOT USE ANYOTHER CLIENT. Simply cause it was made for Servers with work done to them.
You guys are in for Ride Hehe.

actually I have made it almost as far as you did in a few weeks. I can get to the server select screen but the server names do not show up. or with the US version I can get to the log in screen but when I click ok it does not go to the server select screen. This is as far as Mental got (from what I can tell of his posts) what did you do to get beyond this point and I will try and take it from there.

A few years ago i setup a lineage 2 server. setting it up was actually pretty easy and straight forward very close to the setup you show for the repent server.
However the client was a much different story. it seems that since the server checks the version for update lvl it would reject all clients that werent of the correct version to match the server.
After alot of messing around this is what i found.
I had to try several versions of the client till i found the corrrect one for my patch lvl of the server. once this was done the client startup had to bypass the update sections so no updates would occur. I also made a direct link to the correct version of the client on my webserver and instructions on how to install and prevent the updater running. once this was all done it was a snap to get new users on the system, i merely gave them web links to the info.
We had about 20 players at one time and the only issue we had with it bieng a private server resulted from the fact there was NO economy with this few players. so we were constanly adjusting the edema rates (money and item drop rates). Also we setup special npcs who would sell you special items. this helped for the lack of players farming and selling.
All in all setting up the servers are easy if you have all the right files. from what i am reading here it seems you dont have the correct client for your server version. if you happen to acquire the correct one i might be inclined to try setting up the repent server as well. good luck and keep us posted.

thank you for telling us all you know how to kiddie script. I am well aware what I need to do to make the PS work. the problem is i do not have time to work on it by myself. You need the chinese client of Repent from Sunqq to run with these sever files. as many have failed in the past to do you have to get the server list to show up and actually log in. I however am modifying these files to work with the english LOA client. so knock youself out on that chinese crap if you want to.
