Re: Server Files + Guide

Please, can Anyone answer me? I read that I can't run the server with less than 6GB, but why?

Can't I run on a 2GB only for tests?

Likely not. These games require a lot for their map servers. Im contemplating making a pserver for fiesta. however Im running into the problem that sql 2008 doesnt like me and ive heard that you cant make this server on windows 7. but i dunno if i believe that.

Also I was wondering is the reason why SQL 08 would be better for this is cuz the .bak's are made from it and dont usually work in the earlier versions? I got access to all of dreamspark today so im going to upgrade to 08 professional :D

Re: Server Files + Guide

I can, if the community wishes, write out a 100% fool proof guide, with known errors and how to fix them, along with installs from the beginning. I had done this on KryptoDev, and it was well met. Sadly, after I uploaded it to their website, I had to reformat my computer, and forgot to save that guide. And now that kryptodev is gone, I can no longer get it back. It would take me a few days (I gotta get all the screenies back, which means I have to reinstall the server again), but I would not mind.

I also need some help. There is an SHN editor on this website, but it is in its original source code. I am not 100% confident in the use of my IDE yet, and as such, I am having a hard time compiling the source so I can use it. I found the folder where the headers go, but there are loads of them, and I do not know where to put certain .h files. If someone could help, either by writing a guide on recompiling (preferred, so that I can mod the source and recompile at a later date as I learn more C++), or by uploading the .exe of the compiled project.

EDIT: I use the Code::Blocks IDE 8.42 with the mini-gw extensions.

Thanks in advance,

Larkaros

Please do Larkaros, this would be soo helpful to both me and other "noobs" (lol). But yes please make this I among with many others need help so please make this guide.

Thanks

Re: Server Files + Guide

The Athens Client link is broken. Can someone upload a mirror or an alternate client?
Btw, can you configure any private server client to connect to your IP or only certain ones?

Re: Server Files + Guide

Okay. I edited the Kingdom Online client which is pretty much Athens client. I set up everything else but when I go to service manager and try to run all the services, it doesn't run them all only a few.
Anyone else get this problem or have a solution?

Thanks.

Re: Server Files + Guide

Setting up the database
- Account
- OperatorTool <---Can't find this???
- AccountLog
- World00_Character
- StatisticsData
- World00_GameLog

Serverfiles Setup <---This confused me lol edit ODBC info to what? o_O

Open your server files folder
Open "_CONF\config.txt".
Edit the ODBC info at the end of the file.
Also edit the IPs if your making it public.

The Exe's will make services of themselves. So just run them and wait for a notice box.
If your under Vista or Windows 7 then run as Administrator.
"Account\Account.exe",
"AccountLog\AccountLog.exe",
"Login\Login.exe",
"World00_Character\Character.exe",
"World00_GameLog\GameLog.exe",
"World00_WorldManager\WorldManager.exe",
"World00_Zone\Zone.exe",
"World00_Zone1\Zone.exe",
"World00_Zone2\Zone.exe",

They should all say 'Service Upload OK'.

Yea o.x those part confused me / can't find.
