Everything on my server works great. However I have noticed that there is an issue with Fishing. No matter what bait you use or where you use it, the fish are never interested. I checked out a fairly up to date guide on a site called portskandia.com and the site mentions that fishing isn't an event that you can unlock until level 40. My primary character is level 29.

1.) Can anyone with a character that's been organically leveled to 40 or higher confirm as to whether or not fishing works?

2.) What configuration files (ini or SQL) control fishing? I've gone through my databases and ini's looking through the files that seem to make sens and a few that don't and I cannot seem to find anything relating to fishing.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

So I have an update to this issue. I reached level 40 and received the fishing quest. I completed it in Navea and I was then instructed to go to Port Skandia to catch a shrimp. While fishing, I noticed that I was now able to get the fishing mini game to start, however, it fails with a system message "Error occurred in Fishing # 2" and the minigame ends. It also created some information in my error.log file

This pretty much outlines me porting to Port Skandia and attempting to fish.

So to summarize what I have figured out so far:

Fishing is initially broken. The quests are given to players before level 40. The level 40 introduction to Anglers Anonymous quest is a pre-requisite for all other fishing quests, and no fishing quests, or spots, should be visible before this quest is completed.I have been trying to figure out how fishing works however I have been having zero luck

Yes. How did you fix the issue with fishing? Posting screenshots showing you got it fixed isn't much of a contribution to a post dedicated to fixing something. How did you fix it?

Did you check S_Parameter.ini? As I remember, there are some values related to fishing. You can use Google Translate in order to find that value.

You can also check S_Enchant.ini + S_Item.ini / S_Itemmall.ini, perhaps you'll find the link between the bait and fish.

Anything about the correction for fishing? I see some people who have managed to fix this bug. Please tell us how.

No correction at all. Seems to be the status quo in the AK forums. What I don't understand is that the people who frequent these forums (Nobody specific, just in general. This behavior is not limited to the AK boards.) get mad when you ask for a fix, but they will fix things behind closed doors and not share what the fix is. Creating this cycle of people asking for help, and getting help on a case by case basis but behind closed doors. When it would be much simpler to fix one person's issue, in public, then label the post as a fix so everyone can find it and not pollute the board with the same questions.

Overall this was not a burning issue for me. Hence why I have not pressed the issue. I hope someone eventually finds and discloses the fix for this.
