How to save server database if going to change my HD?

Me and my friends played a lot in the 1.65 server, how do I save our database for a backup in the new HDD? Also, if I update the server to 1.69, will we lose our characters or can we backup? thanks!

Servers does not have version only clients does.

Make a backup of your current heroes.db
try this

You must be registered to see links

open SSMS
expan Databases and right click "heroes"
from the pulldown menu choose "Task" than "Backup"
setup ur destination path press ok ur done

for version 1.69 works also
