2.1.6 - HS Err 2

Don't see these threads a lot from me, but I'm stumped.

The same client works for someone else, however when I try to start the client I receive this poop,

I think its something that is running on my PC that is conflicting with it, though I have no idea what it is. Again, the client works for other people but not me. The server is running from my PC.

Any ideas?

If i recall correctly if you replace your hack shield folder it should fix the error or replacing the bin with a clean one. One of those two but if you get hs error 8 its something thats conflicting with the registry or another game running hs.

guess there's a chance you're having a different issue, if I remember this fixed what was called HS error 08 now that I think about it

Yeah that didn't help.

Tried closing out of everything but still no luck. First time I've ever had this issue. lol

Do you know of any links to a clean 2.1.6 client?

no i don't. I have our old 2.1.6 stored on a 3rd HDD, and that's about it.

Fixed the issue, it was due to data execution prevention being turned on.

I've got an issue like this once but I'm not sure if this is gonna work on your .

Here's what you do

Go to start, then right click on your computer click properties, then click to Advance System Settings, then go to Setting of Performance. And then click on Data execution prevention. Then click on "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:

Then the last thing you gotta do is add your launcher.

Thats how i fixed mine when I got this probs.
