GUY Z... can some one post a new guide in sql 2008 it would be really help full

Only two things change.

Firstly when u are restoring database, in the restore screen, select the file "From Device"... then select the file in new window. Click okay. Then in restore screen, click on the tick box next to the database name (eg. ASD_full) DONT CLICK RESTORE, u will get error. Click on options on the left side. Then select "Overwrite" option. Click okay.

Do this for all the databases.

Then when creating a3serial.
select SQL Authentication
login name: a3serial
Password = same as in guides

default databse= change to A3ItemEvent

THEN (this is part that changes for new sql software) Click on User Mappings.

Click on tick next to A3ItemEvent. Then in bottom of window select tick next to db_owner. Click okay. Done.

(might get error that user exists..... follow guide instructions)

the rest of the steps are same.

For any queries please be specific where u are having problem.

ALSO, i suggest u use 2005 sql, easier. 2008 is meh useless

ok..thank you very much for such detail guide... but i got one more problem i have done as you described... now i got the error that user exist.. and i am not able to delete the a3serial from the usual procedure...

Follow steps of guide carefully. It works. You have to find the login in the database. its under A3ItemEvent>Users>a3serial


just delete that login, and create new login. Follow guide, it works.
